As our dedicated partners, including Zenni Optical, Progress Lighting, Amarr Garage Doors, and Grunt Style, work tirelessly at the Burgess home, the family is in for a few special surprises beyond the makeover. We're learning more about the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF), which provides critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans by funding like-minded organizations in communities across the nation. With Zenni's Virtual Try-On feature, the Burgess family was conveniently able to pick out amazing new glasses and shades without having to set foot out of the house. Our designer Jennifer knows the powerful effect lighting can have on a room's ambience and atmosphere, so she was delighted to be invited to Progress Lighting's showroom in Fort Myers to discuss their generous donation. Thanks to Amarr Garage Doors, the Burgess family have a brand-new triple-layer insulated door, a LiftMaster opener, and camera - all of which will help transform the garage into a comfortable living space. Not only are we counting on Grunt Style to keep our crew and volunteers looking sharp and united, but also on their kind generosity and efforts in volunteering to help get the makeover completed.

Military Makeover Makes Serious Progress at the Burgess Home

Our dedicated partners - including Titan, DSW, and Brink, among others - continue to work tirelessly at the Burgess home. Here's the latest. Thanks to Titan, the backyard will be more accessible for Daniel with ramp access. Plus, a brand-new fire pit for the family to enjoy in the evenings. Check it out. With two teenage daughters about to navigate the adult world, some timely money management tips from Brink's Money were very much welcomed by Daniel and Genette Burgess. Our partners at DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) wanted to make sure everyone in the Burgess family had some new shoes - from athletic kicks to exercise in their new home gym to stylish pairs for date night. One special gift the Burgesses will be returning home to is a freezer stocked with healthy and delicious frozen fruits and vegetables from FLAV-R-PAC®. With Gracie and Kaylee Burgess still fairly new to the road, there was no better place for them to receive an education on auto maintenance than from the experts at AAMCO Transmission and Total Care.

Fun, Furniture, and Fixes for the Burgess Makeover

Now that the Burgess family has officially handed over their keys to the Military Makeover team, the home starts to transform before our eyes. And while the team continues to hammer away, our friends at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida are treating the Burgesses to a day of fun at the park. WWE superstar Lacey Evans makes a guest appearance to enjoy all the park has to offer alongside the family. Back at the house, longtime partner Goodman Manufacturing facilitates the installation of a new HVAC system, and Jennifer visits Norris Furniture and Interiors to select the pieces that will make this house feel like a home. Plus, stay tuned as a team from UPC Insurance, the ninjas of homeowners insurance, lend a hand in the makeover. They are experts in insuring homes in Florida and other coastal states prone to severe weather events.

Check out the latest home improvement updates from our dedicated partners. Our longtime partner MyComputerCareer.edu is back once again on Military Makeover, and we couldn't be more delighted. With over 5,000 beautifully designed lighting fixtures for all different needs and budgets, Progress was sure to have exactly what Jen needed to help transform every room in the house. The Burgess family is passionate about quilting, so we were very excited when Annie's Publishing asked to be part of this Military Makeover. Take a look. Pets give us so much joy and comfort - especially the Burgess family's four-legged friend, Sergeant. When our friends at NutriSource heard Daniel's story, and how important Sergeant is as a service animal, they jumped at the chance to get involved. When it comes to helping people make their dream home a reality, there's no one more experienced than our friends at LendUS. Quilting is a huge passion of the Burgess family, so we wanted to do everything we could to honor their favorite pastime with our partners at Janome. The Burgess family is almost ready for reveal day, which will no doubt be a big cause for celebration. And there's no better way to celebrate than with a bottle of wine from Josh Cellars.
