In Episode 1 of the Schaeffer family makeover, we learn the story of former Marine Corps Sergeant DJ Schaeffer and his wife Annie. Born on an Air Force base into a military family, DJ talks about how the loss of his father led him to enlist in the Marine Corps. He also shares about his deployment to the volatile Sangin Valley in Afghanistan, and the resulting PTSD that has affected him since returning stateside. Led by co-hosts R. Lee Ermey (The Gunny) and Art Edmonds, along with award-winning interior designer Jennifer Bertrand, the Military Makeover team takes its first steps toward a beautiful update of this military family's Florida home. Military Makeover veterans Re-Bath are back to complete a stunning bathroom transformation, Jennifer takes aim at the living space, and contractor Ryan tackles a kitchen overhaul.

Proud Military Makeover partner The Home Depot donates a brand-new fence and works with Magic Chef to offer a range of cool appliances with Realtree Xtra Camouflage finishes, perfect for a military family. Military Makeover is painting the interior of the Schaeffer family's home, and Paint Supply and its President and COO Andrew Walsh are happy to provide Ryan with all the supplies, from drop cloths, brushes, rollers, and trays. Steadfast Military Makeover Partner Re-Bath tackles another total bathroom overhaul, marrying classic Carrera marble walls with solid granite floors and all-white fixtures for the Schaeffers' bathroom. Jeff Palmer and NBKC Bank are back for their fourth Military Makeover to lend a helping hand for a veteran family in need. As part of the total home makeover, Jennifer LeMarr and Waypoint Living Spaces Cabinetry supplied cabinetry for the kitchen, along with an entertainment center in the living room and closet storage solutions in the master closet. Goodman Manufacturing steps up once again for Military Makeover to upgrade the Schaeffers' HVAC system to ensure maximum energy efficiency and cost savings for their family.

The big reveal for the Schaeffer family makeover is upon us, and D.J. and Annie are going to amazed when they finally get a look at their remodeled home. Magic Chef and The Home Depot donate a new microwave, toaster and multi-cooker, along with a beverage cooler and a tabletop icemaker nestled in the dining room. Interior designer Jennifer Bertrand has selected pieces from American-made manufacturer Lane, keeping in mind the needs of our military veteran D.J. Schaeffer and his wife Annie. Lane representative Brett Segar gives Jennifer a quick review of the cozy recliners and couches that will transform the Schaeffers' space. D.J. gets emotional when he learns that NixPlay's innovative Iris digital picture frame will provide constant updated photos and messages of his daughter, who lives in Ohio. Finally, Keurig Green Mountain introduces REVV® strong coffee and two Keurig coffeemakers as the newest additions for the Schaeffer family makeover.
