On the new "Junior Edition" of MASTERCHEF, America's top 24 junior home cooks will enter the kitchen for the first time and jump right into their first mystery box challenge. Each junior home cook is tasked with preparing a signature burger and one side. The winner of the challenge will have a significant advantage and will select the main ingredient that the remaining contestants must use in the season's first elimination round. The junior home cooks with the best dishes will advance in the competition.

On the next episode of MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, Season Two winner Logan returns to the MASTERCHEF JUNIOR kitchen and offer some advice to the remaining contestants. The top three contestants from the previous elimination challenge will compete in a cupcake-frosting contest, during which only the winner can keep the judges safe from a sticky situation. Then, in the next challenge, the contestants will be tasked with making a scallop dish in order to move onto the next round in the competition.

The Top 20 junior home cooks face an out-of-this-world Mystery Box challenge with special guest astronaut Tracy Dyson, during which they must prepare a unique dish that highlights a stellar ingredient. The one who rockets to the top will have a significant advantage in the elimination challenge, when the contestants will be tasked with creating a stunning and delicious fish dish in order to move onto the next round.

Team Challenge: The home cooks were split into three teams and they must compete to see which team can create a seven layer dip in a relay challenge, with the winning team getting to dunk that judge's head in the dip. Ian's team has Zac, Amaya, JJ, Jesse, and Mia. Avery's team has Kaitlyn, Tae-Ho, Derek, Adam,and Jaeclyn, while Kya's team has Addison, Sam, Kamilly, Corey, and Nate. Ian's team wins. Team Challenge Winners/Immune: Amaya Baéz, Ian Marcel Sanders, Jesse Gunn, JJ O'Day, Mia Wistwostika and Zac Kara. Elimination Challenge: Ian, Amaya, Jesse, JJ, Mia and Zac are immune from elimination. They also get to select which selection of ingredients the remaining contestants must cook in the upcoming challenge. The team selected Graham's "smelly" ingredients. Addison had the best dish, followed by Nate. The worst three dishes belonged to Corey, Jaeclyn and Adam. Winners: Addison Osta Smith and Nate Murwaski. Bottom three: Adam Queens, Corey Gifft and Jaeclyn Clark. Adam and Jaeclyn were eliminated. Eliminated: Adam Queens and Jaeclyn Clark.

The remaining junior home cooks will party their way into the next team challenge when they leave the MASTERCHEF JUNIOR kitchen for the first time to cook at a birthday party for kids ages 8-13, as well as special guests, the Ramsay and Elliot children. The team that receives the most votes from the birthday party attendees will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will compete in the next pressure test and create the French dessert croquembouche.

A seven-minute team challenge involves making raspberry-mint lemonade, to be judged by Christina Tosi, in a blind taste test. The winners are safe from elimination, but the losing group must make a dish from the decade in which one of the judges was born.

The 12 remaining cooks test their senses in a blind-taste challenge, with dishes prepared by Gordon Ramsay, and then must re-create the dish. Later, in a team challenge, the contestants prepare a meal for a dining room full of grandmothers.

In the next team challenge, the junior home cooks will face an egg-cellent challenge and compete in pairs to see who can complete the most deviled eggs in 12 minutes. The team that perfects the most deviled eggs will be safe from the next elimination challenge, in which contestants must create their future cookbook's signature dish.

Mystery Box Challenge: The kids will have 60 minutes to make any dish they want using the Mystery Box ingredients. The best three dishes were Addison's, Zac's, and Sam's. Zac was declared as the winner of the Mystery Box. Challenge Winner: Zac Kara. Elimination Test: The kids will be put into four teams of two, and only one of them can cook at a time. Every ten minutes, the judges will call for a switch, and the other teammate will pick up where the first left off. The teams will have to cook five different types of street food from around the world. Zac gets to select his teammate and pair up the other contestants. He picks Kya as his teammate, and pairs Sam and Kamilly, Addison and Amaya, and JJ and Avery. Amaya and Addison were the winners of the challenge. Zac, Kya, Sam, and Kamilly are at the bottom. Team Challenge Winners: Addison Osta Smith and Amaya Baéz. Bottom four: Kamilly Serrano, Kya Lau, Sam Sy and Zac Kara. Sam and Kamilly are eliminated. Eliminated: Kamilly Serrano and Sam Sy.

Episode 10

The remaining six junior home cooks receive a special invitation to Gordon's home for their next team challenge. Each team will prepare a two-course menu for a VIP lunch, including a seared red snapper appetizer and a roasted venison loin entrée. Later in the MASTERCHEF kitchen, the judges will reveal which team received the best overall feedback on their dishes and had the most successful lunch service and which contestants will be in jeopardy of elimination. Then, it's up to the judges to decide who will go home and who will continue in the competition and compete in the semi-finals.

The remaining four junior home cooks compete in the semi-finals and are challenged to make the ultimate dessert - a soufflé! The winner receives a huge advantage in the elimination challenge. Later in the MASTERCHEF kitchen, the contestants must prepare a unique dish with a select cut of pork. Then, it's up to the judges to decide who will go home and who will continue in the competition and compete in the finals.

Season Finale: The judges want the finalists to prepare and present a three-course meal - appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Appetizer: Addison makes a sake marinated shrimp with seaweed and sea bean salad, sour plums, and puffed rice salad. Avery makes a cream of asparagus soup with smoked oysters, crème fraiche, and creole crouton. Entrée: Addison makes a miso black cod with bok choy, shittake mushrooms, and coconut ginger broth. Avery makes a seafood étouffée with crispy okra and white rice. Dessert: Addison makes a green tea panna cotta with cookie crumbles and brûléed plums. Avery makes strawberry shortcake with rhubarb and orange chantilly cream. Final Two: Addison Osta Smith and Avery Kyle. Winner Announced: Addison is announced as the fourth MasterChef Junior winner, taking home the trophy and the $100,000 prize. In addition, Addison became the youngest overall winner. MasterChef Junior Winner: Addison Osta Smith.
