Death Takes a Holiday

It's Christmas time again. The surgeons and staff are throwing a Christmas party in the mess tent, and the children from the local orphanage are coming to join in the fun. B.J. donates a box of fudge from Peg and Charles donates some smoked oysters. Everybody in camp thinks Charles is a Scrooge, but, under the cover of darkness that night, Charles generously and anonymously donates packages of chocolate bars from home to the orphanage. The Christmas party takes off without a hitch. Colonel Potter dresses as Santa Claus and the children are having fun, but Hawkeye, B.J., and Margaret miss out on the festivities when a mortally wounded man lands in pre-op. When learning the man is a husband and loving father, B.J. tries with all his might and skill to delay the man's death so his family won't remember this Christmas as they day their daddy died. Will they succeed? Or will they somehow be able to move the hands of time so the man makes it until after Christmas?

A War for All Seasons

As the year 1950 comes to a close, the 4077th staff and surgeons hope 1951 is "a damn sight better" and hopefully they'll be going home. The year 1951 is not uneventful: Klinger makes a bet on a baseball team Charles is sure will lose, Hawkeye and B.J. build a kidney machine, Margaret knits a scarf which soon becomes a bed sheet, and Father Mulcahy plants a garden. By the time New Year's Eve rolls around again, they all hope 1952 will be "a damn sight better" and that they will be returning home.

The Red/White Blues

Colonel Potter's blood pressure is too high after an annual check up, so Hawkeye tells Klinger, to treat the colonel with "kid gloves" to keep Potter from blowing up, but as a result the entire camp tries pampering the colonel to the point of blowing up from the pampering. Meanwhile, a malaria outbreak forces the camp to take their annual primaquine tablets, but Klinger becomes reacting to the drug and the camp thinks he's pulling a fast one till another orderly Goldman comes down with the same symptoms, then they take him seriously. In the meantime Potter is agitated by the kid gloves and becomes fed up with the camp babying him, and trying to prevent him from seeing the mess in his office after, Klinger and his issues left the office a disaster for Margaret and Winchester to fix, till Potter walks in and blows his top.

Meanwhile, the officers had duty rosters switched up, Hawkeye is on kitchen duty, and finds himself in a situation where the mess is missing 50 trays, BJ is in charge of laundry, and Father Mulcahe is garbage officer, and each has their trials with their new found fame.
