The very name Patagonia,in the shade of the Andes, always inspired Ed awe, but now he's dropped in the Argentinian eastern part, shorts-and-emergency-pack-only. The most annoying problem are countless horse fly stings, whereas the major predator, mountain lion, is barely seen. Food is hard to get, so he eats with exceptional disgust tadpoles, but fishing proves a solution, albeit painstaking, eve, clumsy 'tickling' trout. As predicted, the climatic extremes are merciless, despite fire and shelter efforts, forcing him to put on a shirt due to potentially serious sun burn, until the rain cools him down.
