While promoting her last best-seller of horror in a library, Emma Larsimon announces that her lead character, the witch Marianne, died and now she will write about other subjects. Marianne is based on nightmares she has had since she was a child. While autographing her books, her school friend Caroline "Carol" Daugeron tells her that her mother is so obsessed by Marianne that she believes she is Marianne. She also shows her the charm her mother has made of human flesh and teeth and asks Emma to visit her. The disturbed Emma asks her assistant Camile to go to a bar to drink with her. Emma misses the schedule with her boyfriend Pierre, and he leaves her. On the next morning, Caroline goes to Emma's office and hangs herself, saying that Emma's parents will be the next chased by her mother. Emma and Camile head to the house of Emma's parents and soon they are scared by Mrs. Daugeron and Emma's nightmares.

Episode 2

C'est coutume!

While alone in the house during the night, Camile is scared by the alarm and a mysterious phone call from the surveillance company. In the morning, the police inspector Samuel Ronan comes to Emma's house to investigate the disappearance of their parents. He is a great fan of Emma and asks her if she may autograph her books for him. Further, he finds a human skin charm at the entrance door. Emma blackmails him and says that she will write a note in every book provided he brings Mrs. Daugeron to the police station to investigate her. When Mrs. Daugeron walks to the precinct, Emma and Camile break into her house. They discover a locked room, but Daugeron returns and cuts her own arm to accuse Emma unless she writes more about Marianne. Meanwhile, Inspector Ronan visits his friend Pat, who owns a witchcraft store, and he says that the witch charm is cursed and dangerous. Emma meets her former high school friends at a derelict boat. Aurore, Seby, Tonio and Arnaud called themselves the Shipwreck Punks, and Emma spends the afternoon drinking with them. Camile joins them later and Arnaud sends an article Emma wrote about her mother when she was fifteen to Camile. During the night, Emma revives Lizzie and begins to write about Marianne again.

Episode 3

Je ne suis pas un cadeau

Emma begins to write a new chapter of her new novel about Marianne. On the next morning, No-No and Tonio are fishing and find five drowned cows at sea as Emma wrote the night before. Mrs. Larsison returns home as promised by Madame Daugeron if Emma writes a new novel about Marianne. Seby invites Emma and Camile to have dinner with his family. He introduces his pregnant wife Sophie and his stepson Hugo. Emma is drunken and inconvenient, wanting to shag Seby. Out of the blue, Hugo goes missing and Seby, Emma and Camile look for him. Emma remembers that she wrote that five boys were hung at the lighthouse and she asks them to go to the lighthouse. They find Hugo and four friends hanging, but they save the boys. Camile decides to leave Emma due to her behavior at Seby's house. Emma breaks into Daugeron's house with a cross and holy water to perform an exorcism on Daugeron but it does not work. Meanwhile, Inspector Ronan finds Mr. Larsison at an abandoned building surrounded by charms, and now he is in a coma in a hospital. Emma tells Inspector Ronan that she will bring her mother to see his father. When she arrives home, Emma finds her mother stabbed to death and Daugeron laughing with a knife. She strangles Daugeron, but Camile arrives and performs a CPR, trying to save her.

Episode 4

C'est un beau moment

Emma is at the hospital with her father and Camile, both in a coma. Seby arrives and takes Emma to go to the funeral of her mother with their friends. Then Inspector Ronan asks her to see Daugeron, who is mysteriously blind, at the police station and says that she will only speak with Emma. Daugeron tells her that Marianne has gone, and she is not possessed anymore, but she took her eyes when she left. Ronan and two police officers find Mr. Daugeron locked in the room surrounded by witch charms and a cursed book inside. He visits Pat, who is afraid of the finding, and explains that the symbol in the book is the seal of the demon Beleth. Meanwhile, Emma has a nightmare with Sophie and her five friends, but in the end, she delivers a son. Ronan "borrows" the Molitor Report from the local church and learns the life of the witch Marianne. During the night, Marianne steals Seby's baby from the hospital.

Episode 5

Tu l'as laissée...

Fifteen years before, Emma and her four friends are troublemaker teenagers with pranks everywhere. Emma has frequent nightmares, urinating her bed, and Aurore decides to use a Ouija Board to summon the spirit of Marianne to know what she wants. During the night, Aurore, Emma, Cara, Seby and No-No head to their old school at the lighthouse and make a séance. Marianne possesses Emma and tells them the fate of each one, but they believe it was Emma's practical joke. Aurore stops talking to Emma and she goes to school to bring her sister Lucie and meets her friend. Lucie decides to play hide and seek and hides inside a freezer, where she dies, scared by Marianne. Emma confesses to the local Priest Xavier, and he tells her that they have summoned a dangerous entity that is real. He tells Emma that she must leave Elden to protect her parents and friends. She becomes a rebel in Elden, writes about her mother and finally is expelled from home.

Episode 6

Inspector Ronan, Emma and Seby are reunite and Ronan explains that the crimes she wrote over the years have happened in several places of the world. Emma decides to kill Marianne writing that she was quartered but her attempt fails. Inspector Ronan tells them that he has a plan to get rid of Marianne with Emma, but Seby, Aurore and No-No want to participate. They head to the old school at the lighthouse to summon Marianne and trap her spirit in Father Xavier's dog. Ronan believes he failed but Marianne leaves Camile's body in the hospital and possesses someone in the group with tragic consequences.

Episode 7

On était trop petit

In 1615, a priest is supposed to burn Marianne and her contract with the devil to the ashes in her grave to destroy her, but he fails and lies to the other priests that are waiting for him. In the lighthouse, Marianne possesses the dog of Father Xavier and chase Emma, Seby, No-No and Aurore. They flee and separate from each other and Marianne assumes different shapes to scare them. She assumes Lucie body and tells Aurore that Emma was present when she died. Marianne also takes No-No to force Emma to write promising to give his brother back, and tries to convince Seby that she will give his baby back if Emma writes. Emma refuses but when she returns home, she writes again and Seby recovers his baby. During the night, he goes to Emma's room, and they make love. On the next morning, Father Xavier attacks Emma at home.

Episode 8

On est mardi

Father Xavier continues to beat Emma, who crawls to her room. When he notes that she has already written, he tells Emma that now it is finished. Emma pulls a pistol and asks the priest why he beat her, and he says that he has never beaten her. It was the effect of the holy water since she is possessed by Mariane. Then she shoots Father Xavier when he asks where Marianne's grave is. Emma recalls the hole in front of her house when she was a little girl, and she finds the hole covered by a shed of tools. Then she pulls Marianne out of the hole, and they walk together by the black sea. Meanwhile, the real Marianne attacks Father Xavier, stabbing him several times. Aurore meets Emma at home and point her pistol to her friend, but is not capable to shoot her. Emma takes her gun and Aurore uses her necklace with a pendant that Emma gave to her to protect Emma and flee. Meanwhile the wounded Father Xavier craws to Marianne grave, pours gasoline inside and burns to the ashes Marianne, several demons and himself. On the next morning, Emma picks up Camile to return to Paris and says goodbye to Seby. She learns that he has not encountered her since he is loyal to Sophie, and soon Emma learns that she is pregnant.
