Their lives seem to keep becoming intertwined in the most bizarre ways as forgiveness , finding and letting go is the cards for the group now. A real shocker in the closing scene as one speaks to the press.

Ben insists to co-investigate with Michaela into the death of Kelly Taylor, who was murdered at home. NSA Director Vance leans on her ex and direct superior Jared Vasquez to become his informant or face consequences for covering and aiding her illicit inquiries in the murder case which the NSA takes over from the NYPD. Cal finds his former playmate Kevin, now a teen, prefers his equally growing-up girl twin Olive and tells their parents she sneaks out at night. Ben worries about bugging and his wife's other men. Saanvi Bahl and the NSA realize Kelly's corpse, which 'disappears', is of unique material for medical tests on the survivor physiology.

While Ben wrestles with his wife's other men and brilliantly works through the debts she built up by the amateur way she started a firm, he also helps Saanvi Bahl, who found a genetic marker in Kelly's corpse that needs to be checked on the other survivors, while the NSA not only seizes it but even destroys all files as if she never existed. Michaela's visions now even extend to seeing wet footprints and next ghostly shapes, apparently the beings whispering inspiration to survivors, but also finds those don't always end well.

Ben eagerly spends quality time with Cal, and realizing his boy also has mysterious inspiration, albeit not vocal, takes him along on a fun day guided by coin tosses. While mother Grace and sister Olive still bond with 'interim dad' Danny, Cal's intuition guides Ben to the red door his voice whispers about, and in the subway tunnel system finds Thomas, the air hostess's illegal stowaway-brother, just before her Lesbian partner comes for him. Jared is spared serious career implications for covering Michaela's unprofessional misdeeds, thanks to NSA Director Vance, who now expects Jared to be his NYPD informer, while he has enough of his ex's unexplained maverick stunts, while his wife Lourdes insists to stand by their 'third amiga'.

NSA Director Vance, who also counts on unwilling 'police spy' Jared, forces Ben to hand him the hard-won data stick, but as his men can't get results, offers Ben a true partnership. Michaela now doubts her 'calling'.

Ben is visited by passenger Autumn Cox, who claims to have escaped from the horrible experiments during transport, but knows only to identify the dairy barn. He works out the new location and prepares a raid with Vance, Michaela and Jared and neurology professor Fiona Clarke, whose behavior research is joined by Saanvi. The adults can't find the lab, but Cal arrives and insists Ben must follow the light and draws a map, inspiring Ben to finds the tunnel complex. Their project leader Laurence is arrested during a bloody gun fight which wounds Jared, who later recovers, as well as Vance, who dies. Back home, Ben's wife Grace staged a surprise party and discovers he lost his job.

Ben agrees to meet captain Bill Daly, the utterly disgraced pilot of flight 828, who lost everything, including his family, being blamed by the public during their five years in limbo. He convinces Ben at the flight simulator that the entire official investigation into the accident was rigged, at least from the day of departure. The key factor was the weather, which was in both men's recollection far worse then recorded. They find and meet the one meteorologist who studied it at the time and region, Roger Mencin, who was legally sworn to secrecy, yet tells him about his discovery, ionized 'dark lighting', but dies in a suspicious boat accident the next day. Daly can't accept the trail running dead and resorts to kidnapping professor Fiona Clarke, who he believes responsible for the disaster, Ben is too late to stop him.

Vanishing Point

Ben is warned that Cal is somehow the 'holy grail' for the conspirators and tries to prepare as his son predicts he'll need to help another unspecified passenger soon. Grace finally admits that turning Ben away was wrong, pending he 'went far too easily', and learns he did everything possibly and more for his family, insisting she must from now on be informed, regardless of dangers. Grace having expected Ben to mind Cal, who says that won't work, aunt Michaela gets to mind him, but gets utterly distracted by visitor Autumn Cox, who ultimately admits she was blackmailed into being double agent for the custody of her daughter, which Jared finds. Meanwhile Cal disappeared from his room, Jared halts the search by pretending he's safely with grandpa. Cal's drawings inspire Ben's party to find him near a remote town, sporting they're shadowed by NSA boss Jansen, who reports to the Major, who moves into New York. The wood cabin Cal drew and waits in gets a mysterious wounded visitor just after Ben arrived, during a blizzard v-fitting Michaela's weirdest, most intense 'calling' vision.

Cleared for Approach

Ben must rush home as his home suffers vandalism from a group which calls the returned passengers 'terrorists' on their website and billboards, whose leader he unwisely confronts directly after they even throw a stone through his window. Ezekiel 'Zeke' Landon, whim Ben logically somewhat mistrusts as they know nothing about him, refuses to return to civilization, let alone be examined by Saanvi Bahl, whose lab door is also smeared by the 828-haters. Mikhaela stays with Zeke in the wood cabin, trying to get him to show her the cave where he lost a year, but he needs more time, he ends up doing so after sending her for hiking supplies, which leads them to a celestial twins petrograph and mutual confidences about guilt feelings.

To Ben's horror, a survivor shamelessly let himself be anointed prophet of a fake '828 church' for idiots believing they can perform miracles. Zeke and Michaela have matching visions and set out together to help some woman, assuming it refers to their deep personal guilt traumas. Ben moves back in with Cal and Grace, who now insists to accompany them and nags superfluous questions, especially after a red cross is painted on their front door. The same appears at the hospital office of Saatvi, who is lured home by Alice Ciccone, the wife of terminal patient Jacob, alas not fit for the trial of her miracle cure, but she's a member of the Survivors church determined to obtain a 828 miracle at gunpoint. Ben is on their trail just in time to alert the police and step in himself as miracle volunteer while Jacob bravely temporizes Alice.

Hard Landing

After armored car robber James Griffin 'returns' from drowning, Michaela covers up his 828-like exploit and appeals to him to respond morally to his 'calling' as he has a vision about an impending bomb terror, but he only smells a pardon deal which the FBI is eager to offer. Jared reluctantly shows leniency to Zeke, who is caught by a beat cop breaking I to his mother's apartment block. Saatvi is shocked that Griffin has the 829-blood marker, suggesting to Ben they may not have been 'rescued' for good but evil. Ben learns Cal already realized, having drawn James a s an evil wolf.
