A Visit from the East

Ondina is tasked with teaching young mermaids. Rita introduces Weilan, a Chinese mermaid, who will be staying with them. On the way to the Full Moon Ceremony, the girls encounter a water dragon. Weilan warns that there is no way to stop it.

Rita asks Ondina to keep Weilan, who is staying in the grotto, out of trouble. Joe tells David that he has called the Marine Police about the "sea monster" (but they didn't believe him) and that he will be calling the Marine Park, as well. Mimmi is reunited with Chris, who is now a dolphin trainer at the Marine Park. Weilan runs into Zac at the café where David warns them about his brother's actions. Weilan tries some clothes inside and overhears Ondina talk about her to Evie. Weilan confronts Ondina and learns that she thinks that Weilan has brought the water dragon and is endangering her Pod. Dr. Ross asks Joe to take Karl and dive around Mako Island to investigate Joe's "sea monster." Ondina brings her class to the Moon Pool, the magical heart of Mako Island, to teach them. Weilan visits Mimmi at work and they discuss her confrontation with Ondina, the water dragon, and the loss of her Pod. Joe informs David that two of the Marine Park's best men are investigating the "sea monster." David warns Weilan who tells Mimmi about their heat sensing equipment that will reveal even a cloaked mermaid. The two go off to find Ondina and the young mermaids. After Ondina dismisses her class, she sees Chris and hides, cloaked, in the Moon Pool. Mimmi and Weilan find Karl and watch him as they hide. Chris uses the heat sensor and "sees" Ondina, who fleas. Mimmi and Weilan find her and they use their combined magic to create a water spout to deter the divers from returning to further investigate. Ondina and Weilan make amends.

Recipe for Success

Mimmi discovers Arctic Sea lavender growing. While Rita, Weilan, and Evie are at school, Mimmi cooks Arctic marshmallow and follows her recipe closely. It turns out wonderfully and Ondina says she could do it too, even though she normally just makes up recipes as she goes. At "land school," Zac is doing poorly in Mrs. Trumble's class and Weilan, who is a straight "A" student, is seated next to him from now on. She agrees to help him study but, even with her help, he just can't seem to remember the information. At Zac's behest, Weilan does a knowledge transference spell on him. The 10th level Eastern mermaid spell doesn't appear to work. The next morning, Zac and Weilan's hair has swapped! They take the test, and Zac gets a 98, which makes their teacher suspicious that he has cheated. She brings him into Rita's office and has called his father, the head of the school board. Meanwhile, Cam and Evie try to help Weilan remember what she did so the spell can be reversed. Unfortunately, she feels like her brain has been drained. Zac's father assures Mrs. Trumble that he is not a cheat. Suddenly Zac's voice begins to sound like Weilan's voice. They all agree that Zac will retake the test. Back at Rita's grotto, Ondina tries to make Arctic marshmallow but it blows up in her face, literally. After Weilan's voice starts sounding like Zac's, the girls brainstorm. Ondina and Mimmi figure out that they should use the Baltic Sea plankton, like in the Arctic marshmallow recipe, to stop the transference. They do the procedure in the Moon Pool and Ondina impatiently throws it in. The next morning, Zac is back to normal just in time to take Mrs. Trumble's retest. He passes with a C+ and Ondina presents the gang with the Arctic marshmallow she made.

Mopping Up

Evie wants someone to teach her how to use her Moon Ring safely. Mimmi elects Ondina and her first lesson is moving a mortar and pestle in the grotto. Weilan heckles that Ondina's lesson is ordinary and tells Evie about tricks her Pod did for fun. Mimmi then tells of when she and Ondina first got theirs and would "freezy scare" local fishermen. At the Ocean Café, Zac and Cam hear David arguing with his brother Joe because he has made the decision to close the café. Evie's father Doug reminds her that she's been slacking on her chores and tasks her with cleaning the kitchen and doing all the piled up dishes. She uses the power of her Moon Ring to mop but it soon seems to have a mind of its own. Zac and Cam brainstorm ways Carly and Evie won't lose their jobs. Zac, Ondina, Mimmi, and Weilan arrive to help Evie but the mop gets loose. Cam approaches Joe with a business proposition. Ondina, Mimmi, and Weilan use "freezy scare" to destroy the mop. Cam debuts Carly and the house band's performance after announcing his new co-ownership with David.

The Puzzle Box

Veridia and the Mermaid Council summon Rita for her advice on how to take on the dragon.Ondina, Mimmi, and Weilan brainstorm their own ideas and come up with crossing a Northern shrinking spell with a containment spell and trapping it in a Chinese puzzle box.Carly asks Cam to take dance lessons with her. He voices his concerns to Evie who reminds him that they have to do things that Carly likes and he needs to put in some effort. Ondina and Weilan search the local market for a puzzle box. After no luck, they try one last shop and get one for a bargain price. Zac and Evie show Cam their dance moves before trying to teach him. The mermaids work on the puzzle box and spell to contain the dragon without a break. Cam becomes frustrated with learning to dance and voices his feelings without realizing that Carly is behind him. He tries to make amends with her and she lets him off the hook, for good. That night, while Weilan is sleeping in the grotto, Poseidon gets sucked inside the puzzle box right next to her. The next morning, Rita and Weilan (with the puzzle box in her backpack) go to school while Ondina and Mimmi look for the missing Poseidon. Mrs. Trumble takes the puzzle box away from Weilan during class. After class, it begins to move on her desk and eventually pulls her inside. The gang must figure out how to get Mrs. Trumble and Poseidon out of the box and what to do with it. Cam goes to Zac for help on how to win Carly back.

New Beginnings

While the senior marine park staff attend to a stranded pod of dolphins, Mimmi is reassigned to work with Karl. While doing the various jobs he gives her, Mimmi is distracted by another dolphin and eventually learns the reason for her distress. Eager to learn about using her Moon Ring, Evie pushes Ondina to move beyond the basics.

Turning the Tide

When Zac hears about Weilan's knowledge of Eastern mermaid self-defense techniques, he asks her to instruct him with the goal of defeating the Water Dragon. Mimmi volunteers herself and Ondina to work David's shift at the café so he can join Cam, Carly, and Evie on a trip to Mako Island to do research for a school project. When Joe arrives at the café, he takes over and comes face-to-face with a stray magic water ball. Evie misinterprets what she sees when she comes across Zac and Weilan training on Mako Island.

The Way of the Dragon

Veridia's preparations for a confrontation with the Water Dragon on the night of the full moon leaves Mimmi and Ondina watching over the little mermaids in the caves beneath Mako Island. Unhappy at being left out of the action, the girls make their own secret plan to join the fight, as does Evie. Weilan misdirects Veridia to keep the pod on the far side of Mako Island, out of harm's way. Not believing the pod is capable of defeating the Water Dragon, Weilan's plan is to lure the Water Dragon into the Moon Pool where Zac can turn its magic back on it. However, when Evie learns of Zac's involvement she goes to the Moon Poll in search of him. Alone, the pair face off against the fearsome Water Dragon - with terrible consequences.

Reversal of Fortune

As Evie is adjusting to normal life, Ondina is determined to help her get her tail back. She convinces a reluctant Mimmi to cast a remote spell on Evie while she is at school but the spell backfires leaving Ondina unable to get her legs. After overhearing Ondina blaming her for Evie losing her tail, Weilan contemplates her future. No longer a mermaid, Evie surrenders her Moon Ring.

Wishful Thinking

A Wishing Shell transports Mimmi, Ondina and Weilan five years into the past where they meet an alien-obsessed Zac and a Poseidon-less Rita. While the girls try to find a way to get back home, Zac finds himself in an alternate present day where the mermaids don't exist and Evie is dating Cam.

Lost and Found

Ondina and Weilan take the little mermaids to Mako Island to take their first steps on two legs. Meanwhile, Chris and Karl are send to check up on some turtles that were released at the Mako Island lagoon - exactly where Ondina and Weilan are teaching the mermaids, one of whom wanders off into the jungle. Back at the café, Cam's push for product efficiencies leads to his creation of the Cam-burger.

Chris asks Mimmi out on their first date - to the beach. Anticipating the worst, Ondina wants her to cancel but settles for playing secret chaperone. Ondina's interference brings the date to a sudden end causing Mimmi to have her own doubts about dating a Land Boy. In search of sophisticated, upmarket clientele, Cam overhauls the café's image - with disastrous results. Weilan learns the reason for Ondina's meddling and helps her make things right.

Letting Go

Mimmi's visions of a mysterious mermaid lead her to the inescapable conclusion that she must be her and Zac's mother, Nerissa. Upon learning their mother is fabled Nerissa, Weilan recounts how their mother helped defend the Eastern pod from a rebel mermaid named Aurora but never returned after going to face her alone. Zac advises caution but Mimmi is determined to find out what happened to her. In her haste, Mimmi unknowingly summons the Water Dragon which pursues her only to vanish as just suddenly as it appeared. Meanwhile, Carly is frustrated by Cam pulling double duty as both her boyfriend and boss. Seeking clarity, she makes him declare what hat he is wearing at all times.

Age Before Beauty

Mimmi helps Ondina come up with an exciting new lesson for the little mermaids using an accelerated growth spell. With the school board undertaking a review of Rita's principalship, Ms Trumble make it no secret that she is out for the job herself. Rita's all but assured to retain the position but after mistakenly drinking tea made from the growth accelerator, Rita begins to age rapidly. Luckily Rita knows the recipe for the reversal potion - she just can't remember the final ingredient. Zac and Evie's attempt to spend a quiet day together keeps getting interrupted. The pair are tasked with delaying Rita's interview with the school board until the Rita's cure can be completed. Caught between two worlds, Rita makes an important decision about her future but a new opportunity surfaces.

The Legend of Jiao Long

Weilan somehow herself on a double date with Karl accompanying Mimmi and Chris to a book signing and art exhibition. The author has on display a collection of artifacts she's personally recovered from the ocean depths. One of the items, a gold bracelet, may hold the secret to defeating the Water Dragon. Unable to persuade the collector to turn over the bracelet, the girls recruit Zac to try and pull off a heist. Meanwhile, Mimmi makes a difficult choice when confronted by Chris' questions.
