Marian arrives in medieval Worksop and tries to sell her pet tadpole Edwina to vain tailor Robin of Kensington who has just finished making the Royal Underpants for King John. Rastafarian Barrington and grubby Rabies are being punished by the sheriff and in the confusion the tadpole ends up in Rabies' nose. Along with violent dwarf Little Ron Marian persuades Robin to use the Royal Underpants to get them into John's castle to save Rabies, Barrington and Edwina - which they do. However Robin has to pull his hood over his face as the king recognises him. He earns himself the name of Robin Hood but the group are now outlaws and as such, Marian tells them, it is their duty to rob the rich and help the poor. They are not wholly convinced.

Robin accidentally fires an arrow into the sheriff's hat,leading him to believe that he is a fine archer and so King John arranges an archery contest in Worksop to flush Robin out. Against Marian's advice he goes- but in disguise,as Robert the Giant Chicken. His archery is rubbish but he gets captured anyway and it is down to Marian to win the contest -scoring 180 with three arrows - and use her prize,the silver arrow, to get Robin released. Back in the forest though the Merry Men still feel that her place is in the kitchen and that Robin should be leader.

It's pancake day and King John, peeved that he is not recognized in Worksop, charges the sheriff to invent something to commemorate him. The sheriff devises a game called John, in which balls placed on a table must be potted but the balls keep rolling off so the sheriff and his men go to Lincoln to buy green felt to steady them. On the way back they are ambushed by the Merry Men who give them pancakes but take the green cloth in payment to make uniforms for themselves. John loses interest in the game and allows it to be called after a local peasant, Snooker.
Episode 4

King John's uncle dies but all he leaves him is a hot water bottle which John unsuccessfully tries to auction in Worksop. The king loses the hot water bottle when he falls in the river and it is found by Robin. Back at the castle the sheriff finds a note from John's uncle in his tights,revealing that the hot water bottle contains gold pieces but by the time he has retrieved it Robin has removed all the money.
Episode 5

The sheriff is sacked for failing to flush out the merry men and so,in order to get back in John's good books, he dresses up as Marian to infiltrate the gang's hide-out. However he falls into a pit trap. Marian then disguises herself as the sheriff disguised as her and manages to lead King John into the trap too. The real sheriff makes his escape and ensures John's release, thus getting his old job back.

Marian considers disbanding the merry men, feeling their work is unappreciated but when King John, who has received a postcard from his brother Richard to say he is coming home from the Crusades, holds the children of Worksop hostage, she changes her mind. The gang dress up as pizza salesmen catering for the tea party John is holding for his brother and rescue the children as well as stealing the Royal Tea Set. John's party gives chase as does the mysterious Whitish Knight who is revealed to be Richard in disguise. When the Royal Tea Set is returned Richard feels that England is safe in John's hands and returns to the Crusades.Faced with the prospect of John as ruler Marian decrees that the merry men will continue their good work.
