Garwood Huddle, a man who robbed banks in the 1940s, is in a Hawaiian prison. He escapes and heads for the estate. It seems that he once helped Higgins and he now needs help. It seems that his grandson has been kidnapped and the kidnappers want the money he buried somewhere in Hawaii. Problem: it's been so long that the area looks different so he needs help to find it. So Higgins asks Magnum to help. Eventually they find it but the money is gone. Garwood thinks maybe his son might have gotten it only problem is that he appears to have disappeared. So they try to find him.

When T.C. wakes up he says that the man the gang met is not his brother.

Magnum also learns that a woman whom he was suppose to meet was killed. What he doesn't know is that the woman was with the boy before she was killed and placed something in his bag. A politician, Masters is endorsing, wants to help the boy. Magnum and the others are suspicious of his motives.

She then decides to move into the guest house forcing Magnum to move out. She finds herself captivated by Magnum's case an insurance case wherein he tries to determine if a man who was run over by a car deserves the pay out. She then uses the case to create a character named Sebastian Sabre who is inspired by Magnum. She then asks Magnum if she could accompany him and when Magnum was about to close the matter and let the insurance company pay the man, she raises questions that threatens the closure.

When a 200 million dollar jewelry competition is to be held at the estate. The insurance company wants to make sure the estate is secure. Higgins is sure they'll pass because of the top of line security system. But because Magnum was playing games on the computer, the system crashed. He then asks Mac to reprogram the computer. But the insurance company representative, Krista Villeroach was able to get into the estate before he did. So she tells Higgins that she intends to recommend that the competition be moved to another venue. So Magnum pleads with her to let them reactivate the system so that she can see that the estate is secure. But to make she doesn't go in before the system is back online, Magnum takes her out to a party for the jewelry designers. And while there one of the designers outs her as being the daughter of a known jewel thief.
