With laid-back indie film director Michael de Avila at the helm, "Lunkerville" is not the typical hard core, host-is-the-star fishing show. It's quite the opposite, actually. Its foundation is the marriage de Avila -- as its creator and host -- creates between two of his passions: storytelling and bass fishing. He travels the country looking to hook everyday, recreational bass fishermen into sharing their secret casting spots, special techniques and love for the sport. Mike D, as de Avila is known on the series, isn't the star; the amateur anglers are -- the real people with real fish stories.
