Episode 1
We catch up with two families who have been transformed in ways they could never have imagined. When 55-year-old Julie Roberts happily reunited with her birth mother Marion Quigley last year, she unravelled a difficult family history which sparked an extraordinary chain of events. Now Marion wants to track down her two other children who were also taken into care. In our second story, we catch up with 28-year-old Christina Barlow who found her birth mother in Colombia.
Episode 2
Follows the families who have faced challenges building their new relationships. The first story catches up with Brenda Rhensius who approached us eight years ago hoping to find her daughter Joanne. Amazingly, both mother and daughter now lived in South Africa and we were able to reunite them in Cape Town. In the second story, a catch up with former England rugby player Spencer Brown and his sister Margot who were reunited last year.
Episode 3
Follows three stories of siblings brought together after decades apart. The first story catches up John Nicklin, who spent the first 68 years of his life believing he had no biological family. We tracked him down to Australia and introduced him to four siblings on his birth mother's side. Here, we watch these relationships develop and there is an unusual twist as John goes on to uncover secrets on his father's side of his family, leading to a whole new reunion.
Episode 4
Dedicated to the stories of twins separated at birth. Looking back at cases of twins raised apart and following the latest in scientific research, we reveal what it's really like to be separated from your closest relative, born on the same day and explore the ongoing debate about what makes us who we are: nature or nurture.
