Billy Ingleton has obtained a garish van containing a small fairground organ that does not work well, but the women want to use it for the Huttersfield Fair, in twenty-four hours. Tom Simmonite plans to do his ventriloquist act for the Fair with Marina assisting, which upsets Howard.

The men try to help Smiler find a squeak in his hand cart. Barry gets drunk. Marina buys a camouflage net.

It's Clegg's birthday but he only wishes to have a simple lunch with his good friend Truly - no parties no fuss. So Truly & Clegg don their best suits for their lunch, and end up with an extra guest. Everyone else goes to a wedding but end up at the same restaurant as Clegg. Will here able to keep his secret?

Goff Helliwell, a lifelong womanizer and one of Roz' former romantic relationships, out of sheer obstinacy has decided to die the next Tuesday. When Clegg, Truly and Billy enlist Marina to flirt with him, Goff decides against dying.
