The 1st heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of Chartwell House (former home of Winston Churchill), while 50 other artists vie for a wild card working from the garden. The judges will pick a winner to advance

Episode 2
The 2nd heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of West Wycombe Park in Buckinghamshire, while 50 other artists vie for a wild card painting a view nearby on the estate. The judges will pick a winner to advance.

Episode 3
The 3rd heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of the West Reservoir in Hackney, while 50 other artists vie for a wild card painting a view on the reservoirs other side. The judges will pick a winner to advance

Episode 4
The fourth heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of Chartwell House Garden in Kent, while 50 other artists vie for a wild card painting a view nearby in the garden. The judges will pick a winner to advance.

Episode 5
The fifth heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of the facade of West Wycombe House, while 50 other artists vie for a wild card working at the rear of the house. The judges will pick a winner to advance.

Episode 6
The 6th heat of season six features 6 invited artists producing a landscape of a Victorian era reservoir surrounded by a mixed urban landscape, 50 other artists vie for a wild card working from the reservoir terrace. The winner advances.

Episode 7
The fifth season semi-final features the six heat winners and a single wild card, their task is a landscape of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford (site of 2012 Olympics). From these competitors the judges will select three finalists.

Episode 8
The sixth season final features the three finalists producing a landscape from Trinity Buoy Wharf, they are also each given a commission to paint a different landscape in The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Prize is a £10,000 commission.

Episode 9
The winner of the sixth season of Landscape Artist of the Year undertakes a £10,000 commission from the National Trust to create a landscape of Snowdonia to commemorate the125 anniversary of the first property they acquired Dinas Oleu.
