The first heat of the second season features 8 invited artists producing a landscape of Scotney Castle in Kent, for a chance to impress the judges and advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card.
Episode 2
The second heat of the season features 8 invited artists producing a landscape of Lake Windemere at Wray Castle for a chance to impress the judges and advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card.
Episode 3
The third heat of the second season features 8 invited artists producing a landscape of Stowe in Buckinghamshire for a chance to impress the judges and advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card.
Episode 4
The fourth heat of the second season returns to Scotney Castle, with another 8 artists producing a landscape for a chance to impress the judges and advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card.
Episode 5
The fifth heat of the season features 8 invited artists producing a landscape of Wray Castle on Lake Windemere for a chance to impress the judges and advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card.
Episode 6
The sixth and final heat of the second season features 8 invited artists producing a landscape of the gardens of Stowe in Buckinghamshire for a chance to advance to the semi-final. While another 50 artists vie for a chance as a wild card
Episode 7
The second season semi-final features the six heat winners and a single wild card selected from all the episodes of the season, their task is a landscape of Margate Harbour. From these competitors the judges will select three finalists.
Episode 8
The final of the second season features the three finalists producing a landscape of Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness, they are also each given a commission to paint a different landscape. The winner receives a £10,000 commission.
Episode 9
The winner of the second season of Landscape Artist of the Year undertakes a £10,000 commission to create a painting of Petworth House in West Sussex made famous by J.M.W Turner and whose gardens were landscaped by Capability Brown.
