Episode 1
It's a brave new world when Larry takes on the job of Recreation Director at Kensington Community Centre, and Gladys and Jack return from their honeymoon ready for a divorce. Gwen is introduced as the Program Director for the Centre.
Episode 2
Larry has big problems when an obnoxious alderman is scheduled to visit the centre on the same evening a less-than-typical dance is in full swing. Gladys and Jack argue over the adjoining cemetery plots Jack shares with his late wife.
Episode 3
When an attractive young woman takes a romantic interest in Larry he feels young again -- until he discovers that he's older than her father.
Episode 4
Larry accepts a buddy's offer to share his swinging singles apartment after Gladys ruins Larry's chance for a date.
Episode 5
Gwen's chances of getting the job as Field Supervisor look pretty good until Larry decides to apply for the same position. The usual mixed feelings between them become even more complicated.

Larry pairs a young couple for a disco contest and inadvertently becomes involved in a conflict between a father and daughter over an arranged marriage.

Larry's attempts at playing matchmaker backfire when he and Gwen are mistakenly assumed to be the blind dates of the intended couple.

Episode 13
It's Christmas time and money is tight. Larry discovers that Gwen is earning more money than he is for the same amount of work and more sparks fly at the Centre.
Episode 14
Gwen is worried. about not being feminine enough and becomes ultra-feminine. Larry decides he preferred the old Gwen and tries to change her back to her former self.
Episode 15
It's love at first sight when Gwen's cousin visits from Prince Edward Island and Larry proposes marriage.
Episode 16
Larry is adamant that astrology will not be taught at the Centre until he meets the instructor. An old threat from a newly-released convict throws Jack into a panic.
Episode 17
Unless the Centre can raise more money by increasing enrollment, Larry will lose his job. Gwen has a solution in mind to solve the budget problems: her resignation in order to get married.
Episode 18
The Centre is doomed for demolition until Larry convinces the wife of the owner to intervene. As a sculptor working at the Centre, she donates two statues - which in turn create a new set of problems.
Episode 19
The Lubanians plan to use the Centre for a multicultural event. Larry gets caught in the middle when two opposing factions claim the sole right of representation. Jack and Gladys resort to marriage counseling using puppets.
Episode 20
Larry's workload and extracurricular activities bring on an attack that sends him to hospital. His reflections while in hospital have an adverse effect on how he views his Iife.
Episode 21
Larry must convince an insanely jealous husband that he and the man's wife are only working together. Gwen is having trouble auditioning a bunch of kids for a play, and Gladys confronts Jack with an old love letter of his.
Episode 22
Gladys' hopes to match Gwen with Larry are complicated by the arrival of an attractive and flamboyant poet.
Episode 23
Gladys and Jack decide to retire to Florida and sell the house and store. Larry is going to move into an apartment - - he hopes with Gwen.
