Cakes in assigned flavors (given in randomized paint cans) like chocolate, red velvet, and coconut are splattered with color -- the brighter and crazier, the better. Also, the young bakers must include a personal interest as inspiration to decorating their cakes. The winner receives a paint splattered apron that Valerie and Duff have each signed.

Desserts to the Rescue!

Each baker makes a dozen cupcakes based on a selected movie character, then they team up to build an edible island. The central island should be composed from a cereal treat.

To increase the cuteness factor, they must decorate it to look like the pokiest little critter -- a hedgehog. Cake flavors are assigned with cute stuffed hedgehog toys.

The judges want to see intricate crusts, cool designs, and perfectly baked pies. For a twist challenge, what goes better with pie than fresh, flavored ice cream? Only the cream of the crop will make it to the finale.

Tricks and Treats

The kids enter the kitchen to find Duff Goldman stuck in a spider web. After that initial surprise, he and Valerie Bertinelli challenge the bakers to embrace seemingly scary arachnids in the form of spider web desserts.

Special guest Casey Webb helps choose the winner of the baker's dream prize package of top-of-the-line baking equipment worth over $10,000 including a blast chiller.
