Episode 1

Coast Guard Operations in Victoria help a family in distress, while a diver from a hovercraft rescue team conducts underwater maneuvers near Gambier Island, BC. The Kahnawà:ke Peacekeepers undertake surveillance and execute a dramatic drug bust in their mission to rid their community of trafficking. After a black bear has been wounded by a homeowner, conservation officers in Pitt Meadows, BC, track it through the urban wilderness. Halifax outreach workers and "violence interrupters" go on weekend patrol to try to defuse potentially deadly conflicts. And in Montreal, a hockey helmet undergoes a series of prescribed punishments to see if it will protect Canadian heads.
