Nichijou primarily focuses on the daily antics of a trio of childhood friends-high school girls Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi and Mai Minakami-whose stories soon intertwine with the young genius Hakase Shinonome, her robot caretaker Nano, and their talking cat Sakamoto. With every passing day, the lives of these six, as well as of the many people around them, experience both the calms of normal life and the insanity of the absurd. Walking to school, being bitten by a talking crow, spending time with friends, and watching the principal suplex a deer: they are all in a day's work in the extraordinary everyday lives of those in Nichijou.

A defunct high school basketball team finds a new student and things may start looking up for them.

Sogoru Kyo is a normal high school student with great passion for the things he holds dear. In fact, his love for swimming is so great he is attempting to single-handedly keep the team alive. However, his life takes an unexpected twist when meets a strange girl at the pool whose existence shows him an enemy force that is threatening the very existence of humanity. These beings known as GARDS-OMS seek to eliminate humanity and take Earth for their own. His choice is to live as he has been, or take a place in the cockpit of a mecha to stop the extinction of humanity. They often say the truth will set you free, but in this case the truth may destroy Kyo and leave his beloved hometown without the hero it so desperately needs.

Having fun in school, doing homework together, cooking and eating, playing video games, watching anime. All those little things make up the daily life of the anime-and chocolate-loving-Izumi Konata and her friends. Sometimes relaxing but more than often simply funny.

In the future, humanity has constructed several space colonies. But the corrupt Treize and his organization Oz have manipulated the United Earth Sphere Alliance into controlling earth and its colonies with an iron fist. To counteract this extreme measure, rebel colonies launch Operation: Meteor; an attempt to smuggle Mobile Suits made of Gundanium alloy to earth to combat the corruption and free earth and the colonies from Oz's control. One of these "Gundams" is piloted by Heero Yuy, who is shot down and is forced to blend in to enemy society. Now up against social issues with a girl named Relena and Oz and its puppets, Heero must unite with other rebels and save his people.

After the One Year War and subsequent wars with the last remnants of the Principality of Zeon, the Earth Federation formed a special military force to prevent space colonies from revolting against the Federation. Thus, the Titans were born. Eight years have passed since the end of the One Year War and now the tables have turned. The once good Earth Federation is now more corrupt than ever and will turn the other way even when its special force, the Titans, commit atrocities like gassing millions of civilians to their deaths. Because of this abuse of authority the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) is formed from the breaking off of many Federation politicians and military who oppose the Titans, and they will ally with former members of the Principality of Zeon, who dislike the oppression and tyranny towards the space colonies. This where the story begins. Many heroes from the One Year War, like Amuro Ray, Char Aznable, Bright Noa, Hayato Kobayashi, and Quattro Bajeena (Char Aznable), as well as new heroes (Camille Vidan, Emma Sheen, Katz Kobayashi) will fight the Titans' Bask Ohm, Jerid Mesa, Paptimus Scirocco and Yazan Gable, and the Axis' (former Zeon) Haman Kahn, to see who will win the war to end tyranny.
