Julie Molina hasn't been able to sing or play piano ever since she lost her mother who she used to write songs with. When she goes to clean her mom's studio after not having been there for over a year, she finds an old CD by a 90's band called Sunset Curve. Julie decides to play the CD which leads to three ghosts, Luke, Alex and Reggie, shockingly appearing in front of her. However, these ghosts are just as confused as Julie when they see her and so all four of them try to understand and deal with the situation that is now in front of them.

Now that Julie is ready to start singing again, Flynn and Luke convince her to try to get back her spot in the school's music program and not take no for an answer. She therefore decides to crash the school's spirit assembly at which Dirty Candy is performing and fight for her place with the help of one of Luke's songs. Meanwhile, the boys are also trying to figure out what this new ghostly 'life' entails for them and what has happened to everyone they know in the past 25 years.

Meanwhile, Julie wants to accept the boy's offer to form a band together, but she is too busy with the drama going on between her and Flynn. She'll have to find a way to explain to her who these boys are and finally stop lying.
