Daniel Boone: Cunning Woodsman

After establishing Boonesborough, one of the first settlements west of the Appalachian Mountains, legendary frontiersman Daniel Boone finds his new settlement at war with the Shawnee. To survive, they must leave the fort to find salt to preserve their meat through the winter. Leaving his family behind, Boone guides a small company on a 60-mile journey to the nearest salt lick. But before they can finish their work, the men are ambushed by a Shawnee war party on the way to attack Boonesborough. Somehow, Boone persuades the Chief to postpone attacking the fort in exchange for the surrender of the men harvesting the salt. While being held as a captive, Boone hatches a plan to escape and travel 160 miles through hostile territory to warn Boonesborough, and his family, of the impending attack.

George Croghan: Frontier Peacemaker

Along the way Croghan's trade goods are destroyed, leaving him with little to trade for peace, and he suffers a grievous head wound as he is taken captive by a Kickapoo war party. The fast-talking Croghan must use all his charm, wits, and experience to turn the tables on his captors, save his own life, and bring about an historic peace treaty.

Robert Rogers: Frontier Solider

After a ruthless surprise raid on French and Indian forces in Canada, the rangers need to trek 200 miles on foot to the nearest British fort. For weeks, the rangers are chased by enemy forces, and the men, many of whom are wounded, can't find anything to eat in the desolate wilderness. With his men facing starvation, Rogers develops an audacious plan to build a raft and float the last 60 miles down the turbulent Connecticut River to reach the fort and return with food for the remaining men.
