Episode 1
As a new, more aggressive wave of Covid-19 sweeps the nation, video chat app, tech support, Rose, finds a cure for lockdown loneliness. But when her tightly controlled world is destabilised at the emergence of an old adversary, ghosts of Rose's past come back to haunt her.
Episode 2
Rose finds it hard to let go of an old grudge, but when her mother passes on a deadly warning she has a change of heart. While a glitch at work has Rose guessing, a future publicity stunt overshadows concerns. Although Rose misses a connection, another one appears from a most unlikely place, and she finds herself off guard but hopeful for the first time in a long time.
Episode 3
Rose's risk pays off and she lets someone else into her secret world. A customer complaint has Rose wary, but her team won't take it seriously. Adrian, Rose's flatmate, plays a dirty trick to get close. New crush Sam digs up the dead, and Rose shuts down. But it's the noises in the ceiling that keep her up at night.
Episode 4
Sam, misreading signals, calls it off. Rose battles her anxiety to become a better girlfriend. Mum plays to Rose's paranoia, while Adrian reaches out - and his apology comes with advice. Rose's fears are finally considered at work, but she's still to blame. Rose finally takes control, locking the door on her demons.
Episode 5
Rose tries to deepen her relationship and block out her anxieties, but when Sam goes too far, Rose shuts down. Adrian, on a mission, veers close to Rose's worst fears. Desperate, he lays out an ultimatum that Rose can't refuse. Now overcome by terror only Rose knows, Adrian crosses over to the other side.
Episode 6
Relieved she hasn't lost Sam, Rose sees a new side of him she'd prefer to miss. But ignoring the signs spells trouble. Adrian pulls a prank that shoves Rose over the edge. Rose needs her mum, but Mum leaves her for the dead. Devastated Rose leans on Adrian, only to discover the ultimate betrayal.
Episode 7
Rose's anxieties are fully realised. She confronts Adrian, but he denies wrongdoing. Rose turns to Sam, and at his suggestion she attempts to join bubbles. She falls apart as her fears overcome her. Meanwhile, at work, Rose is awarded for a job she didn't do. She then witnesses a hideous accident, forcing her to take action once more.
Episode 8
Rose is foiled by past tragedy. Adrian comes to her rescue, but serves her some home truths. Rose starts to question everything she thinks she knows, but it's too late as she finds a monster in her own house. Facing her past and embracing real connection gives Rose the strength she needs to win. Rose lets go and looks to the future.
