At the hotel Zanzibar bellboy Fred welcomes prince Rico and his minder, the treacherous Henry. The prince's double Gus brings girlfriend Amber to the hotel whilst suicidal Mr Green also checks in. Henry aims to dispose of Rico, helped by prostitute Tracey but Amber falls for another guest Robert. Much confusion results before order is restored and the twins are reunited.

As comedy duo Cheese and Crackers Len and Tommy had some success in the 1980s until Tommy walked out on the act. Now they regroup for a one-off comeback but Tommy is now as successful businessman, scathing of their old routine, though he realizes why Len is so desperate for the reunion. However after Tommy has confessed his real reason for ending the act its true nature is revealed.

In Room 9 at the Royal Academy of Motion Picture Arts Giles Grindley-Orme hosts a panel consisting of brassy Hollywood star Paula, TV critic June, ageing ham Rupert, young producer Gordon, has-been writer Clive and member of the public Jackie to vote for the Best Actress award. Indecision soon turns to bickering until the actual award winner is named - due to somebody outside the panel.

Council workers Maz, Keith and Nick are clearing out the flat of recently deceased Frank Meggins, an elderly loner. A video tape shows Frank hang himself as a result of a supposedly cursed artefact from India. Nick believes the curse to be true, in line with Frank's unexplained wishes for wealth, which came true. Maz's effort to capitalize on this does her no good, leading to a confrontation between her colleagues and a revelation.
