Episode 1
Jan 1926; Kathleen Smith meets Jack Derham but her husband Jack is determined to win her back. The two fight and Denham dies. In 1919; Arthur Goslett has two wives, Evelyn and Daisy. Daisy confronts him and he decides to murder Evelyn.
Episode 2
Serial bigamist Arthur Goslett moves in one of his pregnant lovers into the family home, whilst another waits for him to leave his wife. After his wife learns the identity of their house guest, she is found dead by a river.
Episode 3
In 1865; Adolf Beck is identified as swindler John Smith. He is sentenced to jail for 12 years. His name is finally cleared 1907. In 1909, George Storrs fears for his life but the police fail react to a ringing bell and he is found dead.
Episode 4
George Harry Storrs takes precautions to ramp up security at his home Gorse Hall, soon after he's attacked and killed by an unknown man, Police call the servants in to attend an identity parade.
Episode 5
Sept 1911: Frances Garnett Orme was found dead at the Savoy, in Lucknow. Her friend, Eva Mount Stephens is put on trial for poisoning her. In 1884, John Lee was due to hang for the murder of Emma Keyse but on three occasions it failed.

Episode 7
Gossip has often linked the unmarried Queen Elizabeth I romantically to Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. Inconveniently, he has a wife, Amy Robsart, often left at home while he attends on the queen at court. In 1560, she is found dead with her neck broken: is this an accident, suicide, or something more sinister?
Episode 8
Madeline Smith is the prime suspect in the murder of Emile L'Angelier, a man considered outside of her class, but a man whom she had an illicit affair with. L'Angelier is murdered with arsenic, arsenic that Smith was known to purchase.
Episode 9
Jan 1928; Harry Pace dies of arsenic poisoning. His wife Beatrice was released due a lack of evidence and the possibility Harry killed himself. Feb 1882; Esther Pay is tried for poisoning Georgina Moore but acquitted due faulty evidence.
Episode 10
Esther Pay is accused of murdering the daughter of Stephen Moore, after their long term affair comes to an end.
Episode 11
In 1929, American stage actor Philip Yale Drew is accused of murdering a tobacconist, in Reading but he claims to have no memory. Aug 1908; Charles and Caroline Luard go walking but while he collects his golf clubs she is found murdered.
Episode 12
Major General Charles Luard is the prime suspect when his adored and much loved wife Daisy is killed. Charles receives a string of poison pen letters, and is driven to a tragic act.
