Dr. Ilay Demir is assigned to assist neurosurgeon Dr. Schmidt in an emergency operation. However, due to a mysterious malfunction in the locking system, Dr. Schmidt cannot enter the operating room. Ilay and Dr. Kathrin Globisch, who are already in the operating room, have to watch as the patient's condition becomes increasingly life-threatening. Ilay, who as an intern is not allowed to operate independently, ultimately decides against Kathrin's advice and begins the operation. Dr. Martin Stein receives a message forwarded from Sarah Marquardt. The customer service department of a medical journal is requesting an annual subscription renewal.
