Former stuntman Viktor Hauer is admitted to the Sachsenklinik (Saxony Clinic). He was struck by a pedestrian at a crosswalk and requires surgery for an internal injury. The enraged Charlotte turns out to be the driver who caused the accident: she explains that Hauer ran a red light. He, on the other hand, blames Charlotte for the accident - but that doesn't stop him from flirting heavily with her. The next day, Viktor can no longer move his legs. Charlotte now has doubts as to whether she is actually responsible for the accident. She fears she may have crippled someone. But Dr. Heilmann and Dr. Kreutzer have their own theory: They believe Hauer is faking to get more money from the accident insurance. They resort to a trick that actually exposes Viktor Hauer as a liar. But then he collapses. This time he isn't faking. Charlotte, now convinced of her guilt, desperately fears for the stuntman, whom she also finds increasingly attractive as a man. But help arrives from Barbara Grigoleit. She has discovered that Viktor Hauer is a fraud who has faked similar accidents several times before. The wedding bells are finally about to ring for Arzu Bazman and Dr. Philipp Brentano. But Arzu panics at the last moment and flees the church. Her parents are furious, and Philipp is deeply devastated.
