Contacting the man they bought the house from, Joan and Brad discover he knew nothing about it, and the original owner (who died leaving no heirs) might have left something valuable behind. Ignoring Brad's instructions to not open the safe until he has a witness present, Joan finds a treasure map inside and enlists a friend to dig for the treasure in her backyard.

Disaster ensues when the delivery man goes to the wrong closet at the Stevens home and takes Joan's entire wardrobe, rather than the clothes she set aside for the local rummage sale.

Unfortunately, Joan can't make appearances with the judge because of sneezing fits she develops when she's near her husband. She fears that she may have become allergic to him. The two candidates and their spouses meet on local television for a last debate and Joan must find a way to master her allergy or her husband may lose the election.
