Brad agrees to give up the cabin after trying it out as he has a guaranteed reimbursement agreement with the seller. Joan pretends to not want to go so that Brad will take off without her. That will let her conspire with Bev and Tom to sabotage Brad's trial run. She arrives with Bev and Tom a bit after Brad. They remove the rotor from his car engine so that he will be stranded at the cabin. Bev and Tom leave with all the food and drill some leaks in the roof.

Home of the Week

Joan is envious when her uppity friend Helen Cavanaugh stops by to boast about her home being selected by the newspaper as the Home of the Week. Joan can't resist telling Helen that she has turned down the paper several times when they wanted to feature her house. Helen cajoles her into calling the reporter. Joan insists that her house was scheduled for an article. The reporter thinks maybe the editor made the promise. While the reporter and the photographer are on their way, Joan borrows fancy decorations from her neighbors - an original Gainsborough painting, a Ming vase, a Dresden lamp, carved jade statuettes and a silver cloisonné box. The photographer is astonished. When they leave, Joan returns the items. The newspaper then includes a paragraph in its "Talk of the Town" gossip column suggesting that some judges must be greasing their palms with payoffs in return for beneficial rulings. Brad is incensed and invites three other judges to plan a rebuttal. They strategize on how to catch the offending bench official. While the four are deep in discussion, the press pair returns to document the lavish decorations as proof of their accusation. Joan has to hustle the judges into the kitchen to "fix" a faucet she cracked while she quickly re-borrows the decorations.
