Ghost Ship

A father and his two adult kids, who sail the same whale watching tour near St.John's harbor five times a day, are reported missing by his wife when the boat returns empty on automatic pilot, no sign of crew or passengers. The coast guard search at sea is assisted by Jesse's brand new drone. Charlie's relentless questions, Rex's nose and Sarah's forensics help work out before the ransom demand arrives it's about incognito passenger Peter Sadowski, a pharmaceutical tycoon, whose wife posted too many clues on social media to remain incognito. They find possible motives, even a fake death, and mount a daring, wet rescue.

The Good, the Bad, and the Rex

Charlie and his team Rex run from theft site to site all over the city, as fast, daring robberies -even keeping people at gunpoint- keep being committed by motor-bikers, puzzling with clues, alibis and suspects. Even Charlie's retired mentor Major Sheridan may be involved.

Episode 3

Hound & Vision

Joe's friend, Judge Joni Cameron, is kidnapped from her office, which probably was searched as blood is left. Blind crime-blogger Brooke Weaver wants an interview with Charlie, who generally refuses that, but agrees when she proves an audio-witness, having visited the judge's chambers and made a smartphone-recording of the presumed culprit. First suspect is the judge's daughter Lucy's boyfriend Shaun Hammond, who has a long fraudster rap sheet. Jesse finds among plaintiffs the one who threatened the judge: Eli Newmore, wayward spoiled son of tycoon Laurence Newmore.

Episode 4

Hour of the Dog

Knowing his insurance agent can't stand guns, Charlie leaves his in the trunk to see her in the company's HQ, which is being emptied for a move. Thus he becomes a potential hostage like the staff when a masked, armed man comes eek some vengeance. Sarah, Joe and Jesse can do little outside, as the assailant craftily cuts off communication, but decide against sending a a SWAT team. All depend son Charlie organizing a barricade, working out it's not a disgruntled fired employee but a traumatized client to focus his power of persuasion on intelligent Louis Phalen, who has a conscience, and secret weapon Rex.

Episode 5

Hero by Night

A murder in a St.John's park was committed by someone dressed as The Night Keeper, a former cult TV Superhero. Charlie and Rex must find a vigilante roaming the streets, starting with the original actor, who is now under constant mental nurse supervision at home, and his haughty nephew heir. Furthermore, a super-fan who owns the original costume, but that wasn't used. In fact, Jesse, whose detective exams results arrive, spots a puzzling alteration in the star badge.

Episode 6

Claws Out

Charlie and Rex investigate the murder of a wealthy man who leaves only his three dogs to his estranged and secretive friends who expected his fortune.

Episode 7

Dancer, Traitor, Shepherd, Spy

Ballet teacher Francois Duval dies on the street after a brief encounter with an apparent pickpocket. Boyfriend Ryan hated how he made his bride toil her tutu-fit tail off, but is just a barker. Sarah finds he was murdered with Novitjok, the Russian spy poison. Canadian secret agent Liu remains secretive, ending up killed himself, as the team works out Duval was an alias for a Russian mole, specialist in giving people a new identity with forged papers. He actually used his counterfeit art to help his protegee to a New York dream ballet, but also Russian geology professor Dasha Fedorov, in the very field relevant to the conflict Arctic waters claims, who was tailed by FSB agent Simon Petrov, who will stop at nothing, even poisons Charlie's car handle, luckily smelled by Rex, who also helps using, the antidote Sara gave them just in case.

Doghouse

Charlie and Rex investigate the death of an inmate. Charlie goes undercover.

Episode 9

Hudson and Son

Charlie has mixed feeling about fleet day, as the ship in St.John's harbor, where it tries to recruit staff, is commanded by his estranged father, Royal Canadian Navy commander Edward Hudson. After a bar brawl, reportedly involving four sailors against locals, the female cop who broke them up is found beaten to death. Despite Edward effectively sabotaging the investigation and planning his ship to leave early, Jesse identifies three sailors. After investigation against the clock, apparently clearing all three, it becomes clear the fourth is actually a civilian dressed uniform-like.

A female golfer is found in a shallow grave near the 13th hole.

Episode 11

Dog and Pony Show

Charlie refuses to stay in hospital bed properly after being knocked down chasing a stolen stud mare, as Rex went missing. Examining the stud farm, which lost their only major asset, his team finds the chief stable hand fatally skull-smashed, the clippers used missing, presumably retrieved. Rex is wounded but nursed by widow Laura Peck on her farm, where the horse Athena is being hidden by her screw-up adult son Craig, whose as incompetent accomplice gets scrutinized as team-Hudson -especially Jesse- researches the horse trade, including the owner couple, who disagreed whether to sell Athena. Recovering, Rex befriends the horse and gets his paws on the murder weapon by the time Charlie comes check out the farm.

Episode 12

Bark and Bite

Just released after serving his prison term for the murder of a colleague at the dental firm where he let his beloved Natalie, Honduran Gabriel Garcia faces deportation to a country where his sexual inclination is deadly, and holds Sarah at knife-point to demand the team proves his innocence by finding Lori Meyers's real murderer. Charlie soon starts doubting colleague detective Porter's sloppy case, so Joe stall immigrant agent Baker but time will run out soon. Team Charlie unearths dirty secrets and Rex's nose physical evidence around uncooperative Dr. Serena Moore's firm, while her daughter Natalie sides with Gabriel, even more when the grim truth is found out.

Episode 13

Dogged Pursuit

Shortly after Charlie and Sarah dine with her study buddy Andrew Patel and his semi-hostile wife Makenna Jackson-Patel, Andrew barely survives a beating on the head in the elevator at their employer Chris Egan's HQ, an investment firm, where they are in charge of the fossil fuel Basque deal. That incurred threat mails, along personal ones from Brody Hynes, who was cheated out of money due to him by a firm Egan's bought. Charlie also focuses on Makenna, who suspected Andrew of an affair with fellow executive Lily Richards, who gets help with threats from Jesse, who also he works out the atypical leak to the press about the compromised deal probably relates with short selling, as practices by another executive, Tucker Keefe. Rex's nose proves crucial to prevent the culprit from striking again.

Episode 14

Death on the Doorstep

Charlie finds his home burglarized expertly by an unknown, dying man, who warns him 'they are coming'. It turns out the brother of a career burglar, who was paroled having been put away by Charlie, but denies having had contact with his bother or equally dodgy employee Darryl Gilbert, who runs the Tripp family locksmith firm. A posthumous package delivers a video helping to work out it's all an elaborate plan to rob a bank, involving a programmer, with double agendas.

Episode 15

Wag the Dog

The justice minister visits St. John midst death threats. Charlie and Rex investigate and Charlie ends up on the wrong end side of the culprit, with a bomb strapped to his chest. It's up to Rex to sniff out the mastermind before Charlie is blown sky high.

Episode 16

Rex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll

When Jesse's music teacher is killed at his recording studio, Charlie and Rex link the crime to a seemingly unrelated murder.
