Pathologist Dr. Fuchs had a blast at a volunteer fire department beach party. The next morning, she had a rude awakening: She found the body of fellow firefighter Markus Moser buried in the sand. Moser had already been reported missing by his wife Lizzy. On the way to the Mosers' house, Hubert and Girwidz took a shortcut in their patrol car and almost collided with an alpaca. The two felt the wrath of alpaca farmer Joseph Granetsbichler. Despite the abuse, Girwidz was so taken by the animal's gentle nature that he would gladly accompany the farmer to his farm. Hubert had no interest in such things and continued to press for the widow to be questioned. Moser appears to have driven back home from the clubhouse before his death - at least, his car was parked outside the front door the next morning, while he himself could not be found. Was Lilly Moser herself involved in the matter? However, the investigators also learn that the victim had an argument with his comrade Richard Gruber in the volunteer fire department clubhouse on the day of his death. The volunteer fire department colleagues, however, remain silent about this. Hubert persuades Dr. Fuchs to ask around among their fire department acquaintances. Meanwhile, Girwidz has solo-visited Granetsbichler's alpaca farm and is absolutely smitten with the alpaca Shakira. Instead of focusing on the investigation, he's already planning an alpaca hike.

Episode 11
48 mins
Hubert and Girwidz are supposed to simply ensure that a construction worker observes the midday rest period and puts down his jackhammer. However, Girwidz stumbles upon a finger encased in concrete. The worker insists he had nothing to do with it. It soon turns out that the finger belongs to an employee of the local building authority. His body was found encased in concrete at the construction site. As pathologist Dr. Fuchs discovers, the man had already died of a broken neck before being encased in concrete. Building authority director Hendrick Fischer knows that the victim was supposed to have been investigating a hygiene violation the previous day - far from where the body was later found, on Julia Dreier's property. Hubert and Girwidz visit Dreier and are astonished to find her living in a tent on her land. The reason: Her building permit application has still not been approved after more than a year. She blames her neighbor, Otto Sternhagen, with whom she is feuding. Sternhagen admits to intervening with the building authority. He wants to prevent Dreier from building her house. The police suspect that Sternhagen fears losing his idyllic view of the lake. But there are indeed defects on Ms. Dreier's property, and the suspicion that she herself made the building official disappear is at least plausible. Riedl, on the other hand, seems to have better luck with private land: He unexpectedly inherited a small plot of land directly on the lake from a deceased godfather. However, during his initial inspection, he discovers that he can only access the property by climbing over other people's fences. Direct access to his little paradise is blocked.

Episode 12
48 mins
Hubert and Girwidz are on patrol in the Bavarian Alps. While Girwidz is regaling the officers with details of his recent trip to Egypt, Hubert is slowed down by a tractor. He notices a hiking boot lying in the middle of the road. Nothing unusual in itself, except that a severed foot is stuck inside the boot. Could this be a murder victim being disposed of piecemeal? The only lead the officers initially have is shoemaker Fiedler, who crafted the boot using traditional methods. But the case is tricky: none of his customers are missing a shoe, let alone a foot. However, Christoph Brammer, owner of an insurance agency, is reported missing by his wife Helene. Hubert and Girwidz discover that she was having an affair with the local undertaker, Wiedemayr. Could he have disposed of his romantic rival in a morbid manner? While Hubert and Girwidz continue their investigation, with Girwidz unexpectedly finding himself acting as a eulogist at a funeral, Christina Bayer and Riedl discover insurance agent Brammer injured but thankfully alive after a fishing accident. For Hubert and Girwidz, one thing is clear: they must thoroughly reconsider the perpetrator and their motive.
