Episode 1

Vic is Bob's annoying lodger, filling the flat with clutter and causing damage with a chain-mail gauntlet. Beef, the self-proclaimed ladies' man from next door, gets Bob a date who will come round to watch 'Conan the Barbarian' with him but Vic breaks the television and Beef's replacement turns out to be a microwave oven. They are now dependent on another odd neighbour, Julie, for the loan of a set but to no avail. The arrival of Vic's ex-con brother Bosh presents a solution but it too fails and improvisation is called for.

Julie has baked a pork pie for Bruce Willis, who is coming to discuss film rights for a steamy novel she wrote but she has to go out and, as her fridge is broken, asks Vic and Bob to look after the pie. Inevitably, helped by Beef and Bosh, they eat the filling and have to replace it by stealing an identical pie from Ben Gunn's Pork Emporium, which they manage to do without waking the sleeping Ben despite the squeaky floor. However it has an added deadly ingredient which Bruce Willis is about to find out.

Bosh tells Vic and Bob that his probation officer, Fiona, is coming to visit and he has led her to believe that he owns the house. Bob is not keen to go along with the lie but incriminating photos of him with John McCririck change his mind. Bob and Vic pretend to be Bosh's bosses and Julie poses as his girlfriend but Beef inadvertently exposes the deceit. To save face Bosh invites Fiona back to the pop-up restaurant he has opened in the house. This also seems doomed to failure until romantic Beef saves the day by winning over Fiona.

Bob is entering for the Wig Wearers of the Year contest and has even drunk some of Bosh's body-building juice to help him look his best. Unfortunately the wig is stolen by the house rat, which has lived in the flat for decades, when it played host to a monochrome comedy in the 1950s and an 'On the Buses' parody of the 1970s. Bob organizes everybody into locating the wig but when they find it it has been ripped to shreds. Fortunately a few packets of curly Cheesy Wotsits prove to be the makings of an award-winning toupee.
Episode 5

It's Bob's birthday and Vic has organized a party though he has invited Bob's ex-wife, Norwegian trawler woman Erika, who hates Bob and wants to kill him. To keep him safe Vic persuades Bob to pretend to be dead and the group have a wake, in which Erika happily joins. However she sees through Bob's deception and plans to kill him after she has been upstairs. Unfortunately she has rather a nasty accident and Bob ends up having the best birthday ever.

'Ghost Hunter' magazine is offering the prize of a chimpanzee to anybody who can prove their house is haunted by submitting a photograph of a ghost. Vic decides to enter and holds a séance but Bob discovers a man called Martin, who claims to a spirit only visible to those close to death - which worries Bob as only he and not Vic can see him. However Julie says she knows Martin and takes the snap for the contest. Eventually they learn that they have won third prize - a day with Andy Barker, a man who takes his bicycle to the toilet.
Episode 7

Vic and Bob celebrate Christmas with a tree decorated with sponges and jump leads from the filling station but disaster strikes when the bobble hat Bob has bought as a present for his aggressive son Erik catches fire. With all the shops shut Vic and Bob, along with Julie, Beef and Bosh, plan to steal an identical hat from singer Phil Collins, which he is seen wearing on the Internet. They infiltrate his house through the sewers, where they meet Santa Claus, who tells them about his marital problems. Having stolen the hat they lose it though fortunately it is retrieved by Santa, who announces that he is retiring and nominates Beef as his successor.
