6 Episodes 2017 - 2017
Episode 1
28 mins
Susan is anxious for the hospital to win the annual regional hospital award, bringing in Jeremy Lace, star of medical soap Good Medicine. Porter Ian's belief in psychic healing is put to the test when he collapses and needs surgery whilst chaplain Kenny puts in his own id with his comedy stylings and cheesy DJ Ivan hopes his - pitiful - effort will succeed. Predictably they all fail - except Susan, which does not endear her to her colleagues.
Episode 2
When Ivan, disguised as a robber whilst collecting for charity, demands money from Susan, she mistakes him for the real thing and tightens up security - leading to all manner of complications, denying simple access and leading to an expensive evacuation when a bomb is mistakenly believed to have been planted. Security head Hilary is too much in love with Ivan to notice - until he lets her down with a bump. Meanwhile Father Kenny decides to inject a spot of show biz into his sermons.
Episode 3
Ivan launches an appeal to send little Henry to America for a vital operation whilst local self-made millionaire Tony Jackson is admitted to the hospital, annoying Ian but allying with chaplain Kenny. Ivan's appeal is not what it first seems but Tony still puts up the money until he discovers the truth - giving Susan a much-needed boost.
Episode 4
When head porter Big John dies of a heart attack climbing the stairs as the lift is out of order Susan, desperate to improve her low popularity rating, brings in nutritionist Tyler Watt, who immediately imposes a total sugar ban in the hospital. This does not go down well with the staff and even Susan has her misgivings when Tyler makes her wear a fat suit. When assistant manager Sunny almost chokes to death on a supposedly healthy snack she has no option but to sack Tyler and lift the ban. This, and her rendition of 'You're Beautiful' at Big John's funeral service, increases her popularity no end.
Episode 5
Susan is anxious to impress visiting health minister Helena Steel, who is due to open a new ward and has removed all the signs, resulting in confusion. Father Kenny sees it as a chance to increase audiences but Ian is not happy as it means he has to hold his séances in a broom cupboard. Whilst Helena turns the whole visit into a party political broadcast Ivan's charity stunt of walking backwards for the day spells disaster for Susan twice over and Ian's new choice of venue for his séances is equally unfortunate.
Episode 6
Susan decides to make a charity single to raise funds for the hospital and brings in local choir-master Neville Burley to audition the choir - which does not include Father Kenny. Susan soon annoys Neville by interfering in the recording and discovers the entire choir hates her, forcing her to make an executive decision. Ian uses his psychic skills to help the trap a thief but ends up getting arrested whilst Ivan has a solution to his inability to cope with his new digital recording equipment - bring back the old deck on which to play the stirring charity single.
