Dawn and Phoebe, two popular girls at Hollywood High, are tricked into accepting homecoming dates with two unappealing boys named Icky and Dr. Bad. Desperate to extricate themselves, the girls turn to their friends Wheeler and Bill for help.

Paula and Eugene are high school journalists who, returning from an out-of-town assignment, wind up having to share a motel room overnight. Although nothing happens, Paula later learns that Eugene has been telling a different story to their classmates.

Paula agrees to write a history term paper for Janet, the most attractive girl in school -- on the condition that Janet agrees to go on a date with Eugene. The date winds up being a disaster.
