Each of the six houses in the Oaks, a cul-de-sac in the community of Oak Bay, Oregon, is occupied by a family ethnically and thus culturally different than the other five, most of those families longtime residents. Each family's story, both internally and in relation to the other five families, is told as family members who have moved away return for the Christmas--and in one case Hanukkah--holidays, many of those individuals keeping secrets which will affect the merriness of their time together.
