They try to watch the Mayflower re-enactment but the ship crashes onto a bridge and the fire department must rescue the re-enactors. Arnold and Helga decide to spend Thanksgiving with Mr. Simmons but his loved ones start bickering. Arnold and Helga head home, they are able to enjoy their Thanksgiving with their respective loved ones. Gertie soon begins to set off the fireworks.

Helga's Show: Helga performs a stand-up comedy routine at P.S. 118, but when she starts imitating her classmates, they get angry at her and start ignoring her. She sees what's going on and stops doing stand-up comedy, but her classmates think that her new act stinks. The Flood: Mr. Simmons's class gets stuck at PS 118 during a flood, and the kids have a fight and start to get a little restless. Arnold tries to pull the class together and work as a team. It all works out at the end when the class both pull Mr. Simmons, who was stuck on a near broken ladder, and Helga, who was pulled down with him after trying to help pull him back up with her hands. Meanwhile, Grandpa attempts to save the children, and Oskar hopes to make a quick buck from this.
