The rich teenage students of an exclusive boarding school lead their horny lives, combining some study with lots of sports, fashion, parties, porn, peeping into the showers... anything to 'score' or substitute for an active love-life. Cassandra 'Cassie' Hughes, academically gifted, is by nature least given to those shallow things, but still drawn to popularity like her boisterous roommate Thelma Bates enjoys. Cassie finds an old vase in an annex of the stately former aristocratic estate and pricks her finger at it, and soon starts getting nightmares, visions and supernatural experiences. She takes an interest in Rachel McBain, the estate's first mistress, whose dark voodoo practices are at the root of the whole spooky business...

After attending a party, Cassie Hughes gets more attention from cool Medenham schoolmate Leon Tyler then she bargained for. What really startles her is that since her visions started she seems able to make things move or happen magically, which she tells only to her room-mate and lesbian games partner Thelma Bates. Next Cassie gets visions of a gorgeous youngster, Azazeal, and her powers get stronger and scarier, even causing Leon to catch fire. The counselor explains Azazeal is the leader of the 'nephilim', Hebrew for 200 fallen angels with the power of witchcraft to spread sin on earth. After seeing Cassie make a pass at hunky Troy, Thelma wines her lesbian love isn't requited and runs away. Now Azazeal demands Cassie's help to regain his powers, claiming her finding the 'canari' which gave her powers was his plan, she gets to see Thelma, he wants another willing sacrifice, like lady Rachel was centuries ago...

Cassie is now popular in the cocky party circuit, but she's only really interested in gentle Troy. Cassie has even more apparitions, not just of the beautiful Azazeal and dead, unhelpful Thelma -perceived by nobody else- but also of his demonic nephilim form, lady Rachel and a little girl from her age, which jumps at her throat. Cassie keeps abusing her powers violently on boys who get a little too physical with floozies. Touching the canari at Thelma's insistence gives her a vision the girl was hanged on the estate; the two find the tree and various spooky traces, and Thelma reads in Cassie's file her boarding school bills are footed by James McBain.
Episode 4

Cassie enjoys a snooker/pool night with gentle Troy and forbids Thelma to appear again in private contexts, but gets crucial news: Cassie's school bills are paid by a J. MacBain, she must be a descendant of Rachel's dynasty of Medenham witches. Cassie's ma assures her only Azazeal's visions forced her to sent Cassie to the school, and implores her not to resist him in vain. Thelma insists horrible history is repeating itself in Cassie. After Cassie manages to reassure Troy, who was drifting back to Gemma, she still wants him, Azazeal puts his blood on a worm which enters Troy's body trough the ear, and makes her mother give Cassie a 'protective heirloom' pendant which she may never take off, ironically Thelma 'reminds' her to do so. Troy now becomes aggressively protective of Cassie; Thelma concludes from his bloody eyes he's possessed but is disbelieved and called jealous and unwanted, then discovers that very pendant on an estate painting of Rachel, but is too late to warn Cassie, who has already mated Troy, who thus passed on the bloody eyes.

Cassie has morning sickness. Thelma and equally dead egyptologist Peggy Launceston believe their very presence -friskily enjoyed together- is virtual proof the natural order is perverted, plausibly just as earlier by Pharaonic Akhnaton's daughter Hazrath and priest Azazil, this time by Cassie and (the same?) Azazeal, who tells Cassie to think of their son's grand heritage and seduces her teacher Jo Watkins, as Ian, probably arranging to be seen by Cassie although he later denies knowing who Jo is. Cassie tells Troy, who came to make up, he's not her baby's father and schedules an abortion. Peggy concludes from the hieroglyphs not Herath's death but the birth of her child decided over the release of the 200 nephilim-demons. When Cassie gets doubts after a visit from Azazeal, Thelma tells her grim theory. In the Christmas night mass attended by her doctor, Azazeal gives his version of Mary's illegitimate childbirth and the inexcusable sin of infanticide. Cassie wakes up no longer pregnant; she ignores the infant is in neonatal care...
