When a sniper who's been terrorizing the city claims his fourth victim, Commander Tom Saracen urges former forensic psychiatrist Jane Halifax to join his task force. But her partner, Ben Sailor, advises her against it after Jane is sent a letter warning about 'terrible retribution'. The team review Jane's past cases, looking for a link to Ben's murder and the identity of the gunman. As they hunt for clues, Ben's secrets begin to come to light. His daughter Zoe, learns about the retribution letter and blames Jane for his death.
