Stormy Weather

With Cleo's parents now divorced, Cleo is ordered by her father to take more care of Kim, starting with taking her to a concert. But on the night, Cleo, Rikki and Emma all accidentally see the full moon, and take off to Mako Island, with Lewis in hot pursuit. Once there, the girls undergo another magical transformation in the Moon Pool, as a rare planetary alignment intensifies the power of the full moon - Emma's power is enhanced so that she can produce snow and frost, Rikki can conjure lightning, and Cleo can now control wind as well as water. After the moonstruck girls nearly harm Lewis, they realise that they must work to control their new powers, before anyone else gets hurt.

A new girl, Charlotte Watsford, moves to the Gold Coast, and it is evident that she is developing a crush on Cleo's boyfriend, Lewis. But Charlotte may soon have her chance, as Cleo is getting fed up with Lewis' constant, smothering concern for her, and is considering breaking up with him. Meanwhile, the girls are still trying to learn how to control their powers, and Emma in particular is put to the test when she sees Elliot being bullied by a member of his soccer team. Furious when she sees the boy (Nate's little brother), shove Elliot in the middle of a game, Emma then executes total control of her newfound powers - by making the boy slip on a sheet of ice. But elsewhere, Cleo makes the tough decision to break up with Lewis.

The One That Got Away

Zane wants Rikki to get back together with him but she is having doubts. Cleo is jealous that Lewis is spending so much time with Charlotte. He confronts her but she denies it, saying she's just worried Charlotte will find out their secret.

Fire and Ice

After Rikki calls Emma responsible, Emma decides to do the opposite and throw a party while her parents are away. Nate gets dating advice from Lewis and uses it on Cleo. When Lewis discovers this at Emma's party, a fight breaks out and Emma's mom's new glass dolphin figurine gets broken.

Hocus Pocus

Lewis acquires, via Inernet, a 'mermaids mythology' book, which he claims to be a magic manual. The girls are incredulous, but Cleo decides to try a potion to enable the girls to grant wishes. It seems mute, but works when invoked in mermaid shape. However, bad use makes it dangerous and physically unstoppable. That proves more than inconvenient now Wilfred needs to save the café, for which Emma proposes a TV commercial, which Wilfred directs and Emma stars in.

Pressure Cooker

Cleo catches her father with a woman and makes the mistaken assumption that she is his girlfriend. Things get worse when she discovers that the woman is Charlotte's mother. The girls sabotage dinner when her father invites her and Charlotte over for dinner. Cleo's jealously grows as she watches Charlotte and Lewis together.

In Hot Water

Cleo is fired from the marine park and Lewis is hired not realizing that he is taking Cleo's job. Rikki and Emma swim to the park and take revenge on him while he is trying to serve ice cream. He discovers them and they swim away, accidentally leaving the dolphin's door open. Ronnie (the dolphin) escapes and the girls have to find him and return him to the marine park before Lewis gets in trouble from being accused of the one who did it.

Wrong Side of the Tracks

Zane is accused of being the one who steals Rikki's dad's motorcycle emblem when he attempts to return it. Rikki is embarrassed that she lives in a trailer park and lies to Zane about living elsewhere. Zane tries to patch things up with Rikki's dad when he discovers who he is and fixes his motorcycle.

Riding for a Fall

Emma takes her brother for horseback riding lessons and immediately takes a disliking to his instructor, Ash. She doesn't listen to his instructions and accidentally allows his horse to eat some weeds that make him sick. A misunderstanding has Lewis with 2 dates to an award banquet.

Cleo begins to fail Biology because she hasn't been studying with Lewis. Charlotte volunteers to tutor her so that Lewis won't have to and gives her a lot of work to do, keeping her busy all weekend. Cleo gets wet while spying on Lewis and Charlotte so Lewis kisses Charlotte to keep her from seeing Cleo.

In Over Our Heads

Rikki's father stresses over bills and thinks they may have to move. Zane shows Rikki information about a sunken treasure and she manipulates the situation to get Emma and Cleo to help with the search. When they discover she deceived them, they get upset and leave Rikki and Zane alone to search. Rikki finds it, but is knocked unconscious when the crate hits her as she is trying to get it up to Zane.

Fish Fever

Both Cleo's fish and Emma hurt themselves on a piece of coral. They begin acting strangely and Rikki and Cleo have to figure out why. Lewis brings the fish and piece of coral to a scientist who comes up with a cure for the fish. Lewis brings the rest of the antidote back to Emma to cure her too.

Moonwalker

Cleo's father decides to take his daughters camping on Mako island during a Full Moon. Cleo invites Rikki and Emma along and Lewis invites himself. Charlotte discovers the plans and decides to tag along as well. Kim wakes Cleo to tell her that Charlotte and Lewis are gone and she becomes affected by the moon and goes to the moon pool. When Rikki and Emma find out that Cleo is gone, they too become affected and head to the moon pool. Charlotte attempts to find them and discovers the moon pool herself just as the moon passes overhead. She almost touches the water while it is bubbling but Emma uses her power to freeze the water.

Get Off My Tail

Emma gets mad when Ash gets the Manager job that she thought she was going to get at the juice bar. She fights him about every change he makes until he fires her for something she didn't do. Lewis tells Charlotte that Cleo is his friend and he plans to spend time with her too.

Zane finds a bottle containing a scent that is rumored to drive mermaids crazy. When they find the smell appalling, they leave it on a table where Nate finds it and rubs it all over himself. All three girls become affected by the smell and stick close to Nate's side while Lewis and Zane have to figure out how to get it away from him and break the spell.

Double Trouble

Lewis falls asleep on the beach and has a nightmare that Cleo is seen in her mermaid form by a group of beach goers. Cleo chaperones Elliot and Kim on a date at the marine park and has to quickly dive into the water when she gets splashed. Lewis has to dive in and cover for her when a crowd of people catch a glimpse of her tail.

Moonstruck

Under the guidance of Cleo and Rikki, Ash asks Emma out and ends up bringing dinner to her house just in time for a full moon. Cleo and then Rikki fall under the spell of the moon and trick Emma into coming upstairs where she falls into the bathtub and turns into a mermaid. Lewis has to try to stop Ash from discovering the girls' secret.

The Heat Is On

With the arrival of the girls' one year anniversary as mermaids, Cleo organises a party at Mako Island to celebrate. But when Zane accidentally spills some drinks on Emma at the cafe, he is forced to have an argument with Ash to stop him from seeing her as a mermaid. Overhearing Zane calling her a 'clumsy waitress', Emma doesn't realise he is only trying to help her, and gives him the cold shoulder. This leads to Emma and Zane's girlfriend Rikki becoming enemies, and it looks like there will be no party at Mako Island, which upsets Cleo. Meanwhile, Lewis feels guilty when he realises he hasn't been spending much time with Charlotte.

The Gracie Code: Part 1

Lewis tracks down a man named Max Hamilton who has research about mermaids from 50 years ago. We discover that he knows so much because he dated a mermaid named Gracie. Max tells them about his time with Gracie and gives Lewis all the information he has.

The Gracie Code: Part 2

Charlotte finds a picture of Gracie in Cleo's room and asks her why she has a picture of her grandmother. She gets suspicious of Lewis helping the girls with a project and returns to Cleo's room when she is not there to snoop around. She finds a film and steals it. Lewis finds her at the juice bar watching the film of Gracie just as Gracie dives into the moon pool, turning into a mermaid!
Episode 21
And Then There Were Four

Lewis takes everything back to Max Hamilton, not realizing that he is being followed by Charlotte. When Max discovers that Charlotte is Gracie's granddaughter, he tells her everything he knows. Charlotte goes back to the moon pool during another full moon and this time goes into the water while the moon passes overhead.

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble

Everyone is shocked to discover that Charlotte is now a mermaid too. The girls reluctantly try to help her adapt to her new life, but Charlotte doesn't want to listen. She gets wet at a volleyball competition and has to run off into the water. Later she discovers that she has all 3 of the powers that Cleo, Rikki and Emma have.
Episode 23
Reckless

Nate blames Lewis for wrecking his jet ski. When Lewis refuses to pay him, Nate attempts to steal Lewis' boat, but Charlotte refuses to let Nate go, using her powers to stop the boat and bounce Nate around inside it. Cleo, Rikki and Emma get more frustrated at Charlotte's recklessness.
Episode 24
Three's Company

Charlotte decides to throw a surprise party for Lewis but ignores all of Cleo, Rikki and Emma's advice about what he likes. She invites all her own friends and throws a party that Lewis isn't quite comfortable with. During the party she traps Cleo and Emma in a pool room and causes a pipe to spill water all over them. Rikki saves them just before Ash discovers them in mermaid form and all 3 decide to throw Lewis their own party.

Sea Change

An angry Charlotte assaults Cleo and makes Lewis promise to stay completely away from her. Feeling that Lewis has abandoned her, she becomes very upset and takes off into the ocean where no one is able to find her. When Lewis hears Cleo's message, he figures out what Charlotte has been doing and breaks up with her to find Cleo. He apologizes to Cleo and they kiss.

Unfathomable

Max Hamilton tells Lewis that this full moon is different. When the planets align, the moon can take all a mermaids powers away for good if they are in the moon pool when it passes overhead. Frustrated with Charlotte, he decides to trick her to getting into the moon pool. Cleo discovers that Lewis and Charlotte have gone to the moon pool and she gets worried and decides to swim out to see what is going on. When all 3 girls arrive, Charlotte reveals that she knows about the special moon and attempts to get Emma, Cleo and Rikki into the water instead.
