Features performances and musical classes led by renowned jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis. First is the Westwood Playhouse in Los Angeles as Marsalis plays the classic "Caravan" with his band. He then conducts a master class at Harvard University, explaining that jazz pieces are built "on top of" the bass' rhythm and that the piano and drums then "have a dialogue" to create the melody, At the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington D.C., Marsalis talks to the students about respecting the long history of jazz, and he plays "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans." and then explains that jazz is created through a combination of blues and swing.
