Roly feeds his face in a café, and finds some older locals chatting - he secretly records their conversation. Meanwhile, the girls are getting worried that the car they are in is not taking them to the Roman Theatre. The car pulls up off the beaten track, and the boys are clearly up to no good. Annette and Julie talk their way out of danger, and walk off through a country track, hopelessly lost. Jonah wins a lot of money on the fruit machine, but the local lads are eyeing him jealously, and they have to run off to escape their wrath. All the waifs and strays are eventually rounded up. Roland is praised for his surreptitious recording, but Zammo and Jonah's exaggerated talk of people they met who fought in the Bohr war is rumbled when Mr. Butterworth produces an identical book to the one that the boys bought!
