When it comes to building fast cars, you always need a driver. While Rick is the genius behind the build, Nick has always been the guy behind the wheel when it comes to racing. In this episode of Gear Heads, the Fastlane boys thrash on a Mustang named "Blucifer." Featured in this episode is the Texas Mile. It's a standing mile long run held at an active airstrip. Going for the top speed record takes skill with the build and the driving. One mistake can be costly as the Gear Heads try for a speed over 200 MPH.

The New Guy

It's not easy being the new guy. In this episode of Gear Heads, Fastlane's newest "floor sweeper," Andrew struggles to earn the respect of the mechanics in the shop. In addition, Nick & Rick struggle with a demanding customer about his Dodge Challenger as they race against the clock to make the delivery schedule. Adding to the suspense, Fastlane's resident "tuner," consistently shows up late for work causing the team even more setbacks.

Nick Field is turning 40 and he's not happy about it. In this episode of Gear Heads, Fastlane's employees throw Nick a pizza party to celebrate his 40th in style. The only problem is that Nick doesn't eat pizza. The day only gets worse for Nick when he has to rush one of his mechanics to the hospital for a head injury. While he's away, Paul, one of Fastlane's top customers wrecks his car causing Nick and Rick to find a replacement for the Texas Mile.

The Match Race

Every once and while Fastlane builds a car for themselves. This time around, the Gear Heads thrash on a 2014 C7 Corvette. The goal is to win a match race against an identical car with similar specs. Featured in this episode are Top Fuel Pilots, Clay Millican and JR Todd. Clay is a 6 time NHRA world champion. Also featured is Monte Smith of NOS fame. It's a race to get the car done and get it down the track first with maximum horsepower.
