But When he learns where he is going he is desperate to go elsewhere cause hes going to his Home town. And it seems he didn't leave under the best circumstances. He tries to leave before someone from his past shows up. But When a fire breaks out he finds himself in the thick of it and meets someone he knows.

The Fresh Prince of Edgewater

Having had to fight back when attacked during his heroic rescue by vindictive professional firefighter Jake Crawford on top of his phone incident which was reported as a possible escape attempt, Bode expects his request for a transfer to any other fire station then Edgewater to be denied, even be returned to prison. We and his fellow inmates gradually learn he's the wanton son of fire chief Vince Leone, who told him to get lost, and his wife, administrator Sharon, who resents being kept in the dark and their family being broken up as Bode even changed his name. During a 'dry storm', consisting of many lightning incidents, Bode inspires heroism by example to have school kids evacuated in the convicts' own bus, where a bolt however strikes the driver, not fatally. Program supervisor Manny Perez seems inclined to keep the model recruit, although Vince keeps criticizing his every move, while half the town still resents the birthday party incident with his dumped fiancee he was jailed for.

Jake tries to come clean about his part in Bode's fatal derailing, but dares not risk his status as Vince's substitute son. Seeing a badly burnt youngster crawl out of a nasty fire, the two go seek his fellow weed harvester, only to find him staked in a trap pit and both are held at gunpoint by weed grower Mojave Sutton. Bode convinces Manny they must talk over Mojave, his old friend, before the police arriving probably means a bloodbath, successfully. Vince throw a flare to start a fire, alerting Sharon where they are, they all escape by car. Vince finally recognizes Bode as his born heir again, but is rejected and finally told Jake broke daughter Riley's heart.

Bode realizes volunteer fire colleague Rebecca Lee is an attorney and gets her to take a look at his allegedly innocent 'mistaken robber identity' convict's case. Vince finally learns about 'golden boy' Jake's part in Riley's death and turns on the 'liar snake'. The team must help with a huge collapsed party hall, but it's too large and Vince gets stuck alone in a hole, with Jake above, and fifteen trapped wedding guest must take priority as there's only one crane. Sharon hopes her cancer may be cured in a drug test program, but gets a nasty reaction.

Unlike Vince, Bode manages to evacuate not used a widow and her daughter from their burning farmhouse but also their beloved, spooked horse from the barn.

Bode and Freddy fear to be ousted back to prison for the hidden hand injury by Manny, who instantly reverts Bode's promotion to first saw. When two hikers are reported in trouble, one is saved just in time from a cliff, both her friend lies deep down, injured but alive. Eve is lowered by rescue helicopter, but manages to smash against the rock, forcing the cable to be cut and is injured herself after falling half the height. As Bode and Jake used to play there as kids, they volunteer, promising to bury their hatchet, and do a fine rescue job. Manny decides to keep everyone on the program. Mother Sharon finally confides her critical kidney condition to Bode, who promises to make up to restore family harmony, but Vince still isn't as eager and uncle Luke is scolded for keeping a vulture eye on Sharon's job, now she's medically suspended indefinitely. Bode is flattered as Gabrielle wants a romantic bond, but reluctant given mother's condition.

Happy to Help

Bode and Freddy nearly die in an explosion at a wealthy home where the joint teams put out a fire, but the haughty owner asks the team to stop cleaning up, mistrusting criminals around her possessions. They are all under suspicion, rudely searched by the police and threatened with collective return to prison when a luxury watch is reported stolen. Bode asks captain and ex-con Manny Perez, to whom he personally handed it in, to come forward, but it's found by the owner and Perez understands his intentions, even helps him qualify for more good behavior points to qualify for earlier parole. A major gas explosion has to be prevented after a leak is reported.

Bad Guy

A car accident leaving two sibling drivers in mortal danger on a bridge creates conditions recalling Riley's death, completely clouding Vice's judgment, identifying with their desperate father Samuel Senior to the point of confusing that family with his own. Manny, Bode and Jake desperately talk into him to make rational choices. After the daughter was saved, her brother Sam Jr. dangles over the edge, Bode risks his life father then let Vince throw his away. Sharron finally learns that Luke didn't cause her suspension, but for once covered for brother Vince, who still duly fears for her health.

Soaked and shivering, he decides they can't wait as the freezing night approaches, so they head up to the road. They hear and find Meg, the penniless driver who caused the accident and couldn't afford insurance, immobilized by a leg wound, and start dragging her along, a hopeless load, and must stop to improvise emergency surgery as Meg's leg show obstructed blood flow. The search seems near-hopeless, so Manny decides, against Vince, to deliberately start a fire, 'just a day soon but scheduled in principle', alas without backup, and it does get out of control after a team already left, but Bode spots it timely.

Get Your Hopes Up

Just when the team congratulates Nestor Charlie on his impending release to liberty, intending to join as regular firefighter, an exhaustion-confused driver crashes his delivery van into the station during a safety demo. It starts a fire, which gets under control, but they find Charlie dangerously locked under the truck. Bode and co manage to save him and hopefully his leg. Meanwhile electrical power was cut, just while Sharon was on dialysis, and neighbor Cara, a nurse, needs her help, having got current-burnt. Before both faint, she explains about who dumped who, clarifying context when Bode's sister died, so the Leone family needs to set that straight.

The Leones are touched by the benefit efforts to raise money for Sharon's hoped-for kidney transplant and people getting tested as potential donor, including a friendly biker club. However the latter become the victim of vindictive ex-con rival gang leader Odin, who first causes a crash, which the fire team deals with, then elaborate nocturnal arson to the barracks, forcing Manny's team to hold out with primitive means till reinforcements arrive. Bode sneaks out to confront Odin.

The Leones and daughter Gabrielle worry and deal in heir own ways with Manny's gambling problem, which even costs him his house. Everything must however take a backseat when a private airplane, acrobatically writing a love message, crashes and starts a fire. It gets completely out of control, demanding maximal joint efforts from regular and prisoner program firefighters. Alas that also includes evacuations, but grumpy Harlan Denbo, a fire vet, refuses to abandon his home, having had to cancel insurance to pay for his wife's medical bills, yet Bode gets him out.

You Know Your Dragon Best

Rookie medic Colin, another legacy, is fast fitting in. On Bode's birthday, environmental protesters set fire to developer Neil Wallace's car, and a hardcore female chains herself to a tree, using a home-made 'dragon' contraption that proves extremely hard to remove, while the reigniting car starts a forest fire heading there alarmingly fast. Learning donating his kidney would probably send Bode back to prison, Jake confides being a match to Vince and ends up taking the donor place after initially hostile Bode realizes it's not about who donates, him being around too is even better for his ma.

Bode duly dreads partaking in the fire security detail at the annual fun fair in his home town Edgewater, where his unpopularity stirs rudeness, he must restrain Rebecca from retorting. Precisely the man who verbally abused Bode most needs help when his cute, model-behaved kid son goes missing. While Bode leads the search, Jake is in position to intervene when a high fair attraction goes out of control, with the inexperienced operator getting dangerously trapped attempting to shut it down, with one passenger unaccounted for. Luckily Bode realizes both problems may cross-section.

Trying to pay off some of his gambling debts, Manny Perez is working on a fishery boat, covertly until Gabby, who assumed him relapsed, spots him, and must come to the rescue with Vince when another crewman's hand gets caught in and crushed by a steel cable. Thus without proper captain, Bode's team must do with his zeal and Eve's inadequate instructions on reforestation mission, where she gets caught under a falling tree. During the efforts to save her, Rebecca gets fatally injured, Bode irrationally blames himself. Jake waves his mother's doubts about kidney donation and wakes up after surgery, learning his proved incompatible after all, Sharon needs another donor. Bode is surprised to get compassionate leave but she claims to refuse another operation, preferring to spend her last healthy months travelling with Vince.

Vince takes charge of the massed efforts to prevent -in vain) fire reaching the prison, next to evacuate staff and prisoners, plus some visiting relatives, which is complicated gravely by a violent revolt, even taking hostages.

Even his Leone 'adoptive parents' must see that Jake is the only one who had ample opportunity and no alibi, even refusing to tell why he was in the disaster county, 'brother' Bode's conviction wavers when told Jake lied about arson at home as a teen. However new fires inspire Bode to look into rookie Collin O'Reilly, whose 'spark' background proves a major lie, in fact his whole identity.

Off the Rails

The fire teams are still shocked by the uncovered pyromaniac 'fake spark'. It's worst for the Leones, who wrestle with some guilt for not having believed more in 'adopted' Jake, who keeps blaming them, but intimately confides into Bode that he was in the arson county to meet a survivor. All firemen must step up when Bode discovers a train has crashed into a party bus full of prom students that got stuck on the rails. To make it worse, the driver confides he's bribed to look away from contraband cargo, as turns out explosive chemical waste. Some kids can only be saved by taking excessive risks.

The Leones are stunned when a cozy wellness retreat center calls them because the coals they have their clients walk on burnt them, never dying down. Vince finds it's a deep, underground fire, that consumes the root-system of cut trees. It must be dealt with before it spreads and starts multiple fires on the surface. Bode is unpleasantly surprised as the new load of prisoner recruits includes 'Sleeper' Hadley, a smart career criminal who manages to deal drugs and favors in prison. He quickly 'bribes' Freddie with phone contact with his wife and newborn, despite Bode's warning and 'fixes' young neo-junkie Troy's OD, which may not be found out by captain Manny, who keeps warning Bode t avoid any risks with a parole hearing coming up. Covering for him causes a near-rift between Bode and stickler Gabriela, who insisted to help but can't handle the risks.

Everybody anxiously awaits Bode's parole hearing, but a fire in a vineyard requires mobilizing all crews and Bode convince Manny to let Sleeper's drug boys join. The winery however also hired Manny's lover's a private firefighting company, who started a backfire but miscalculated the wind, so the neighboring buildings, even staff bunkhouse, are beyond saving. Bode can however rescue the people, yet his parents are stung to hear he and Manny plan to join that company rather the Cal Fire after parole. Manny realizes it's not the same ethical standard and reconsiders his career move, compromising his romance.
