Episode 2

The Big Bang

Wed, Nov 3, 2004

In this episode, the genre being spoofed is none other than Quentin Tarantino. Three unsuspecting actors believe they have been cast in the flashback sequence of a feature film based on the life of gangster Chaz Imperial, played by Greg Sims (aka: the producer). Chaz casts his cousin Gina in the role of Kitty even though she can't act, while his hot girlfriend Alison gives tarot readings and causes sparks to fly. The director and Chaz just can't seem to get along, but Chaz's bodyguard Sherrod is close by to make sure Chaz gets his way. The whole film almost gets a shakedown when local Officer Noll arrives on the set to bust Chaz, but things really start to heat up once Eric Estrada arrives on set playing the infamous El Toro.

Episode 3

The Mukashi Code

Thu, Nov 18, 2004

In Episode #3 of Filmfakers, the genre being spoofed is none other than Sci-Fi. A Tim Burton like director who uses puppets at the table and is generally overly animated and childlike in his enthusiasm for the craft of making movies. Then there's a special effects guy with a drinking problem, who puts the cast in harm's way -- specifically El Nami, who the unsuspecting talent first meet as he is being carried to an ambulance from set on a gurney. Tunisis is an actor whose hot girlfriend got a small part because she was sitting in the waiting room. As the episode unfolds, her part gets bigger and bigger while off the set it becomes clear she is sleeping with the director. By the end of filming, she comes up with and delivers the line: "I don't know about you bitches, but I'm ready to rock this code!" There's also a Japanese TV host covering the production for her "Extra" style TV show called "More!" Throughout the episode, she interviews the unsuspecting cast in true bonsai style on her very own set, with ridiculous questions about the true meaning of The Mukashi Code. The cast, in full costume, is subjected to segments like "guess my breath," and "cupcake eat off," as the Japanese TV Host delivers asides to the camera in actual Japanese (sub-titled for the viewers at home).
