To fill the void left by his mother's death, Gaku is comforted in the world of Math - where every problem has a solution. Gaku makes a drastic course correction. The next teacher appears. Kai reveals his vision of Gaku's future to Gaku.
Episode 2
Kai shows Gaku things beyond his current day experience, resulting in growing pains. The goal posts change unexpectedly, breaking Gaku's focus. Kai's most vital command: "Abandon all Common Sense." The Team actively tests Gaku's resolve.
Episode 3
Gaku anxiously finds Kai increasingly MIA. Partnered with the remaining UNKN chef, Gaku tries making in-roads. Facing off with his nemesis, Gaku's carefully assembled mathematical structure begins to crumble. A new perspective is dawning.
Episode 4
Magoroku takes Gaku under his wing. Kai's role reversals put the Team under intense pressure. Kai throws down the gauntlet for Gaku. Gaku starts to realize he must manifest a completely new theorem to achieve "pro" status in this Kitchen.
Episode 5
After Ranna's big reveal, Kai banishes her from K. The Director baits his trap. Gaku discovers his many comrades. Gaku seeks the truth, inadvertently revealing something significant about himself. "New generations change perspectives."
Episode 6
"Don't just use Your brain: FEEL." Ranna is worried at the subtle changes in Kai's behavior. Kai manifests the rabbit hole Gaku willingly jumps into. Kai tests Gaku's resolve - and commitment - to becoming "peerless" by calling him out.
Episode 7
The arrival of Hirose forces all of Gaku's fears to the surface. The Team works to synergize a perfect dish. Uomi faces a difficult choice, as does Kai. The pursuit of "peerless" requires a heavy price: Complete Isolation from All Others.
Episode 8
Upon anointing Gaku as his successor, Kai disappears. Gaku becomes disoriented, untethered from Kai's watchful guidance. Kai's history with Shibuya is revealed. To fill the void left by Kai, Gaku immerses himself in the truth of cuisine.
Episode 9
Gaku begins to crack under the pressure of "total responsibilities" of running K. The loss of Kai, then Uomi, intensifies Gaku's feelings of abandonment. Gaku attempts to perform every circus act solo. "There's no point if we don't serve."
Episode 10
