Fear Factor Season 5 Episodes

In this episode, the top five couples from season four's Couples Fear Factor series returned for a rematch. For the first stunt, both members of each couple would be standing on a platform high above the ground. As the two platforms making up the floor slid further and further apart, both players would have to jump the gap, transferring flags from side to side. The couple to transfer the highest total of flags before both falling would win a pair of fully loaded 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokees. For stunt number two, both members of each couple would be locked in a cage with a wall of bars separating them. The cage would be submerged underwater and both players would have to retrieve keys on their side of the cage and exchange keys with their partner through the bars. Both players would have to unlock three locks to open the cage, then swim to a buoy. The three couples to do this the fastest would advance to the next round; t he other two would be eliminated. Inky number three is where the man in each couple would have to siphon squid ink from four containers and get it flowing into a large funnel. The woman would kneel under the funnel, catch the squid ink in her mouth, then spit it into her boyfriend's mouth. The boyfriend would then have to spit the ink into a graduated cylinder with a ball in it. The couple who could get the ball out of the cylinder the fastest would win the Tony Hawk Underground 2 video game and $20,000. Finally for the last stunt, the man would start out by crossing an 8-inch wide balance beam high above the ground. Once he reached the other side of the balance beam, he would have use a pulley to pass a key down to his girlfriend standing on the roof of a building. The woman would then run with the key to a jet ski, start it, and race it down a water trough and off a jump. The couple whose jet ski hit the ground the fastest would win the $50,000.

The contestants will be riding on the back of a jet ski, traveling at approx. 25 to 30 miles per hour. Contestants are placed in a plexiglass helmet, which is then filled with water and moray eels. The contestants must ride a platform that is continuously moving up or down, along the way there are 6 stations that they must get off and retrieve a flag and return to the moving platform.

For this twins stunt, one contestant will be seated in a helicopter and the other will be on a quick-release. On "go" the helicopter will fly towards a drop zone where the seated contestant will release their twin to the water. Working as a team, couples will tear chunks of meat off of a cow jaw using only their mouths and run through a 30ft trench filled with cow parts.

Challenges in this episode were an underwater auto "rotisserie" with a car half-submerged and set to churn on its axis. The spinning starts and each contestant must unlock restraints at the seatbelt and steering wheel level, grab a flag from the back seat and swim with it to a buoy. Next was the eating of special 'sushi' dishes containing rice, maggots, rotten squid guts, red worms, super worms, earth worms, tarantulas, stink bugs, beetles, rotten fish guts, squid ink, and giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches. The final stunt was to walk out a six inch wide beam in the air and place flags as they go. A wall will continue to move over the beam and eventually push the contestant off the beam. The one that places the most flags wins.

Newlywed couples compete in the season five finale at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The contestants first saw through a rope to release them into the water, ride jet skis to a helicopter and climb a rope releasing flags as they ascend that rope. They then receive a "Fear Factor" wedding cake with alligator eyeballs inside. The happy couples "toast" their newfound happiness with a champagne cocktail a la Fear Factor. Next the newlyweds must launch their car, complete with a "just married" sign, off an exploding pier into a lagoon, where they must then free themselves from the sinking vehicle.

This episode featured four pairs of best friends competing as teams. First was the double water beam where one team member would be standing on a 12-inch wide beam high above the ground, and their partner would be under on another beam passing up handles by rope to shut the water valves that is spraying down on there partner. At eating time they the friends sit down to a sausage feast including: stink beetle sausage, leech sausage, red/super/night crawler worm sausage, maggot/rotten fish guts/squid sausage, Madagascar hissing coach roach sausage and pigs eye and pigs blood sausage. Finally, it' a game of "Fear Factor" 'chicken.' The game is played by splitting up each pair and having them drive a car toward each other. Before the cars can collide, a pipe ramp flips each vehicle and sends it sliding down the street on its roof. The combined distances traveled by each car are used to calculate which pair sent cars sliding the farthest.
