She moved into a new apartment, started a new job (as secretary to lawyers Danny and Al) and began dating, much to her daughter Linda's consternation. Actress Lee Grant was nominated for an Emmy after the series was canceled, and blasted NBC executives publicly on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" for their quick hook.
