Tom question whether something was implanted in his brain since he has nightmares with the period he was in the alien spacecraft. Meanwhile Pope intrigues Tom with the civilians and the 2nd Mass, raising doubts whether he is an alien mole. The 2nd Mass learns that the Skitter are planning an attack to their camp and they need to flee. However, the bridges have been destroyed by the alien forces. But they locate an old bridge that is partially destroyed but may be repaired in a short time.

Compass

The 2nd Mass uses an abandoned airport as a hiding place and recover from the last battle with the alien forces. Captain Weaver expects to move to Catskills to rest in the winter, but Tom believes that the Overlords wants this movement. Ben and Jimmy use their patrol to secretly hunt down Skitters. When Pope and the Berserkers kidnap Tom to force him to leave the 2nd Mass, he is rescued by Ben and Jimmy and the rebel group is arrested and delivered to Captain Weaver that forces them to accept Tom or go to jail. Ben and Jimmy attack a group of Skitter, but Ben is controlled by the one with red eye and Jimmy is deadly wounded. Out of the blue, a small plane piloted by a woman lands on the airport and the 2nd Mass is informed that Charleston has become the gathering point of survivors.

Young Bloods

Hal and Ben are patrolling and out of the blue they have their motorcycles stolen. Ben uses his abilities to find the hideout of the thieves and they find a group of youngsters surviving alone and they invite them to join the 2nd Mass. They go with their leader Diego and his girlfriend Jeanne to meet Captain Weaver and Tom, and they have a great surprise. When they return to their friends, they find they have been abducted and sent to a harness factory. Now they want to rescue their friends.

Love and Other Acts of Courage

The 2nd Mass overhears a battle in the nearby town and they head to the place looking for survivors. They find only Skitters and Mechs, and Rick wounded under a Skitter. They bring him to the camp and he tells that Ben is in danger. Tom, Weaver, Rick and small team find Ben with the Red Eye Skitter and he explains that he is leading a rebellion against the Overloards. Tom does not believe in the enemy that tries to convince that they need to join forces to win the Overloards. Later Rick dies protecting the Skitter. Meanwhile Hal, Maggie, Tector and Crazy Lee are assigned to look for medical supplies and they find a hospital, but Maggie is wounded in the return to the camp.

Homecoming

Hal stumbles across bodies of de-harnessed kids and finds someone from his past. Tom and Anne grow closer. And Weaver's health deteriorates just as Tom discovers he may have been keeping important matters from the group in order to protect them.

Karen and Ben stumble upon aliens and Ben learns why Karen returned home. But he is rescued by Tom and a team that capture an Overlord. The 2nd Mass is surrounded by the enemy and attacked by Skitters and Mechs. Trapped in the hospital, they see Karen offer to let them go free provided they release her Overlord. They do not accept and soon they find a new danger, the crawlies.

Death March

The convoy of the 2nd Mass heads to Charleston and Tom recalls saying goodbye to Ben. Weaver travels with Tector trying to know whether he can trust him since he hides his military background. Out of the blue, they hit a young girl and Dr. Glass treats her. Meanwhile Hal and Maggie drives ahead with the annoying scum Pope and their ruck overheats and Hal searches water in a nearby river. Matt befriends the girl Jenny that is looking for her brother and brings her chained in the back of the bus under the surveillance of Anthony.

The Price of Greatness

The 2nd Mass arrives in Charleston and is welcomed by the residents in a hidden underground of a mall. Captain Weaver meets his daughter Jeanne and Tom meets his old friend and mentor Professor Arthur Manchester. But soon Captain Weaver learns that the soldiers do not want to fight aliens but only protect the compound. Further, there is a friction when they have to deliver their weapons and ammunition to the local soldiers. They receive assignments and the leader Manchester asks Tom to back him up in a speech for vote to the residents. Soon Tom and Anne feel that something seems to be wrong in the place. Tom does not support Manchester in his speech. When the Red Eye sends a messenger to summon Tom for a meeting, things change for the 2nd Mass in the community.
Episode 10
A More Perfect Union

There is a breach in the compound and Ben, Red Eye and the rebel Skitters come inside and the 2nd Mass protect them. Ben and Red Eye have a meeting Tom, Captain Weaver, General Bressler, Sgt. Clemmons and Colonel Porter. Red Eye says that the 2nd Mass missed the chance to kill the Overlord and that he is building a powerful weapon. They propose to join forces to destroy the weapon, but Bressler refuses. However he allows the 2nd Mass to go with them but betrays the group and order Clemmons to kill the Skitters. Lourdes finds that Anne is pregnant but she does not tell Tom to go with him in the mission. When the 2nd Mass meets the rebels, several of them are murdered but they go despite the orders of Bressler. However they are surprised by someone in the underground.
