Thalians founders, actresses Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee, hosted the evening at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Rooney received the Mr. Wonderful Award and a gold statuette, The Goofy, designed by Walt Disney himself for the Thalians in the 1950's.
