Still extensive examination of the entire course of the water supplying the well reveals nothing, even though there are a fertilizer - and a hydro-electric plant. He long believes there is nothing to prove, but then Dr. Wiliams is found 'suicided' with contraindications and Alphie's father declares his so-called cancer was a paid hoax, he is determined to uncover the plot- indeed the boy is kidnapped to cover up the truth, which is however not in the water but has something to do with radio-activity...
