The longtime town magician, Stuckeyville Stan, hires Ed to sue a rival who is revealing the secrets to his act. Nancy is afraid that Sarah is becoming more fond of the nanny than her.

Ed decides to hire a manager for the bowling alley and must choose between Shirley, Phil, and Kenny. Ed goes to court representing 3 old friends from high school over a contract written on a cocktail napkin. Ed's opposition is the NYC law firm that fired him. Mike and Nancy disagree over who should feed the baby overnight.

Ed takes the case of an attractive woman who kept unearned wages in her paycheck. Molly differs with Bob on how to cast the high school musical. Carol ends things with Nick. Dr. Jerome requires Mike to give him a medical exam.

Carol tries to figure out how to avoid Nick since their breakup. Ed takes the case of a distraught bride to be who is suing her hair stylist for ruining her hair. Ed tries to win Carol's affection but it leads to a misunderstanding.

Ed is given an assignment by Mayor Wally to impress tourism writer Callie with Stuckeyville's charms. He decides what's needed is an impromptu festival. Carol thinks she needs to leave town to be a better writer.

Ed looks forward to celebrating Thanksgiving, deciding to host everyone at the bowling alley. He defends his client Gavin, injured by a cantaloupe while continuing down memory lane by firing the cannon at the football game.

Ed is told by Charley Hudson, while writing his will, that he is gay and wants to reveal his relationship to his family. Mike feels threatened by a hotshot Dr. Benson at work. Phil holds auditions for an open mike night at the bowling alley.

Troy McCallum, star QB in high school, returns for the holidays causing Ed and Carol reflect on their past with him. Ed, with Phil's help, pranks Tucker's Appliance as revenge. Ed helps Warren impress a girl by pretending to die.

Ed's parents, Alan and Natalie,visit but are clear they aren't thrilled with his new life. Ed takes on a case involving the lottery. Carol finds herself coaching a team with a losing record while a vandal hits the bowling alley.

New DA Bonnie Hane are against Ed in court over a car ticket affair. Carol and Ed bet about whether Ed will be able or not to fix a broken pipe in her house.

Carol learns her music box is valuable but it's immediately stolen. Ed's extra effort for it's return raises Bonnie's suspicions. Mike works to avoid throwing away his keepsakes. Warren joins a bowling team to impress Jessica.

Ed's high school girlfriend Kara wants his help testing her husband George's fidelity. Then she asks Ed to handle a contentious divorce. Budget cuts end the school's music program leading Carol to lead the fight to save it.

Ed's new case involves an overweight man whose brother is going overboard to get him to stay on his diet. Warren has an awkward 1st date with Donna. Ed reluctantly hosts a bowling alley wedding with a young couple Ari and Barbara.

Ed wants to seek landmark status for Stuckey Bowl when a group meets for a 59th reunion. Ed takes on a case involving costly placebos being despensed by Dr. Kendall. Jeff reveals to Molly he asked Carol out first.

Ed turns Stuckey Bowl into a casino for a night and asks Carol to go with him. She wonders if it's a real date. Warren wavers between asking Jessica or Donna to prom. Dr. Jerome is getting a tribute and Mike's in a quandary.

Ed's former co-worker Bud Frankel appears and makes Ed an attractive job offer. Ed and Carol plan their prom date and talk about the almost kiss. Warren is desperate and hires an escort for his date. Phil auditions for a TV show.
